Just a 10 minute drive south of picturesque Aurora, New York (home of Wells College) and 30 minutes north of Ithaca (home of Cornell University and Ithaca College) there is enough to do and see in the area to keep you busy every day, if you can drag yourself away from the lake.
Ithaca, Utne Reader’s “Most Enlightened City in the US” and home of the famous Moosewood Restaurant is a vibrant community alive with art, music, theatre, museums, sporting events and festivals. The twice weekly farmers market is full of fresh local produce, ethnic foods and local art and crafts.
In Aurora, dine at the historic Aurora Inn, stop at in one of the antique shops, stroll along turn-of-the-century, picture post-card streets and have homemade ice-cream at the old fashioned soda fountain.
