The 48 Willow Place Townhouse is located in The Brooklyn Heights Historic District, and featured in the AIA Guide to New York. The apartment is on the second floor of this award winning residence designed by architects/owners Joseph and Mary Merz. Situated on a quiet, tree-lined street of Brownstones and Carriage Houses, the apartment is a short walk from the shops, restaurants, and cafes of Montague Street, The Brooklyn Promenade and the Bridge. Just one subway stop from Manhattan, it truly has the best of both worlds.

Furnished in a contemporary style with built-in cabinets, floor to ceiling windows and custom designed furniture, the apartment has a warm and comfortable feeling. Private bathroom has shower/tub , large mirrored space with Welsh tile floors. Kitchen alcove with built-in ref./freezer, toaster, coffee and tea maker with fresh ground coffee and herb teas, together with eating utensils, plates, cups and bowls are provided. Note: No breakfast provided. Flat screen 24' T.V. with cable, and a well stocked library of local guide books and literature.

Wonderful location, Fantastic Host!

Joe Merz was a fantastic host! He accommodated our red-eye flight, letting us check in early, and was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The room was lovely, modern and comfortable. I used to live on the same block in Brooklyn Heights, so I know how convenient the neighborhood is. Joe's rental unit provides a lovely respite after a busy day in Manhattan - with a beautiful garden view, too! I would have liked a microwave oven in the unit, but the toaster, teapot, refrigerator and coffee maker worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this place and will stay here again the next time I visit NYC.

A terrific find!

We typically stay in Manhattan and this was a wonderful base from which to get to Manhattan as well as explore Brooklyn The room is clean, neat, and very usable, the owner Joe is friendly, charming, and accommodating, and Brooklyn Heights is a great old-fashioned/new-fashioned neighborhood with beautiful residential areas and charming commerical streets. Serveral subways are within a 10-15 minute walk.

I cannot say enough about this beautiful B & B. The room, the garden, the location and the host make it the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC and the surrounding area. It is convenient to subways and the local neighborhood restaurants are great. The host is very friendly and helpful. The room is large and bright and the garden view is lovely and quite serene. Whether you are looking for a base to travel from or a simple retreat away from the hustle, I recommend you stay here. Everything is just right.

Great stay in Brooklyn Heights

The Apartment really made our vacation a special one. After all the day-trips to Manhattan (often by foot) or wandering around Brooklyn Heights as well as the neighborhoods nearby BH, every day of our 10 day vacation, we have been very happy that we had chosen this lovely furnished, quiet and above all, perfectly located apartment. Shops, supermarkets, bars etc. are just one step and away and even the Brooklyn Bridge can be reached within a 10 minute walk.
Even before arriving in New York Joe helped us a lot and while our stay he gave us some interesting information about where to go apart from the typical tourist attractions, which were really helpful, as we like to see not only the standard attractions but especially the different neighborhoods.
We highly recommend this apartment and would love to stay here when we visit New York again some day.
