It was a dream of ours to own a beach house in Hawaii. One day our realtor told us a sandy beachfront property in Ewa Beach was just listed. At first sight, we fell in love with the views and the sound of the gentle surf. We are proud to share our beach home with other families who we hope take the same loving care we do.
Aloha Dolly & Dave...
We were a family group....ranging in ages from 2 to 65 plus years of age. We stayed at and occupied the bigger property(both Ewa & Hula Moon). Even with all of us in the house....there was plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing, lounge around & relax, or catch up on some reading on one of many lawn chairs.
As a parent it gives me great joy seeing my kiddies playing with their cousins at the back of the house...be it chasing each other around with water balloons/water guns or playing in the sand/ocean. Hopefully these new memories they've created will last them a lifetime.
Even though this is my first time in Oahu, I think the property is pretty centralized....it's close to everything. It takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown Honolulu. But beware and watch out, try not to get stuck in rush hour!!!! lol It happened to us when we were coming back from Downtown Honolulu...traffic was barely crawling, it was as bad as back home(Vancouver - BC, Canada), but mind you I think that's the same with everywhere in any big city around the world.
Mahalo Dolly & Dave....Dave, it was a pleasure meeting you in person. I admire and envy how youthful you look for your age......I guess all that yard work and surfing keeps you very fit and looking young, maybe I should take up surfing eh? ^_^ Everyone in our group can't wait to come back!!!
We rented all three houses for a group event. Lots of room we didn't feel crowded at all. Very clean! Great porch swing. Fabulous Sunrises and Sunsets. Friendly Geckos and butterflies. This is our second year at Ewa, Hula & Blue moon. Can't wait to go back!
Our stay at Ewa Moon was fantastic. We were looking for a house right on the beach and we were not disappointed. The house was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. We woke up each morning and watched the beautiful sunrise over Honolulu. We spent alot of time away from the house taking in all of the sights, hiking and beach hopping, but when we were there it was quiet and very enjoyable.
We visited Ewa Beach Park, Waikiki, North Shore and Lanakai Beaches (make sure to visit this quaint town and beautiful beach). We hiked Pillbox and Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trails, snorkeled at Hanauma Bay and ziplined at Climbworks at Keena Farms near North Shore. We also visited the historical Pearl Harbor Memorial and U.S.S. Arizona. Make sure to visit the Aloha Stadium Market Place where you can purchase alot of Hawaiian things to bring home. The prices on most items were very good. We ate at the Royal Thai Garden in Ewa Beach and Dukes in Waikiki, Germaines Luau just a short drive away, and the rest of the evenings we barbecued at home and hung out on the patio by the beach. The roosters woke us in the morning which was surprising the first morning but didn't bother us after that first morning. The location of Ewa Moon is not in the heart of tourist activities but easily accessible which was perfect for us. Be aware of the high traffic times when going in an out of Honolulu and Waikiki.
Dolly was very nice and we communicated by email several times to set up our stay. Dolly had to leave to go to the main land while we stayed at the house and she emailed me to let me know that she would not be available and provided us with a contact person, if there were any problems. We will recommend this property to friends and family. Mahalo Dolly and Dave for helping to make our stay in Oahu the best!
It was nice to have a house and to have one on the beach was great. We had the bottom area. The furnishings are dated. We did not find it to be very clean, the ceiling fan over the kitchen counter was dirty as was the shower in the master bath. The shower bottom needed to be scrubbed and there was some mold areas on the shower door. It's our fault that we did not contact the owners since we were always in and out. I know it is hard to keep some things up due to being on the water but it could use painting, new linens and some updating.
Great vacation stay! SO CLEAN. Quiet neighborhood. Wonderful views.
Spacious for our 3 generation family of 5. Everyone from the 10 y/o to grandma loved the Hawaiiana in every room.
Easy drive to the airport and tourist spots.
Would HIGHLY recommend, especially for anyone who wants to avoid the craziness of Waikiki or a resort.
Only drawback is the lack of restaurants in the area. However, there is a really nice Safeway nearby with all of the amenities.
Would definitely stay again and could see bringing the whole family and renting top and bottom.
Everything we could have hoped for: clean, roomy, fully equipped kitchen, quiet (no traffic at all!), shaded porch, grass yard and the beach right beyond the retaining wall.
The owner was easy to communicate with and gave detailed directions and instructions about the property. The location makes it easy to head to Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, the west shore or over the island to the north shore in a short time. Grocery store and other conveniences close by.
Loved the decor too. The house is a reflection of Hawaii in the 50's and 60's with great photos and memorabilia. There's even a piano and uke if you're musical.
Loved sitting on the beachside deck and watching the water during the day and the lights of Honolulu at night. An endangered monk seal visited the beach on a few occasions, fishermen cast their nets nearby and kayakers and stand up boarders plied the waters. A very relaxing stay indeed!
Turtle and monk seal watching from your Deck at this beach house. Water Park and cinema theatres at Kapolei, 6 Golf Courses within 4 miles, outlet Shopping nearby at Waikele and Kapolei, Swimming & Diving, 5 man made lagoons for easy swimming at the Ihi' Lani Resort and the Disney Resort, Au'lani 12 minutes away, Pearl Harbor Arizona memorial 25 minutes away, White Plains beach with the best novice long boarding on Oahu and free parking, 10 minutes away. Luaus at Germaine's and Paradise Cove 10 minutes away. Polynesian Cultural Center and luau 40 minutes away. Waikiki Beach 40 minutes away.
