Michael, Heidi, Meskerem & Tirunesh call this little piece of the forest a home away from home. We are avid skiers in the winter and love the summers in the High Sierra. We hope you enjoy the property as much as we do.
Heidi Baikie purchased this cabin in 2006
The location was key in our choice: the shortest distance from the bay area and minutes from Skiing/Snowboarding in the winter. The ease of access and distance allows us to enjoy more time in the cabin and less time in the traffic.
The wildlife in the area is amazing. Every day you can see squirrels, chipmunks and birds.
In the winter--you catch glimpses of the rabbits which turn white when the snow flies.
In the Spring through Autumn, there are bears, coyote, dear, bobcat, marmot, and many more small animals.
We love to have the animals around us, and hope that all our visitors respect that we are living in their backyard.
We visited this property with our kids and grandkids, and had a wonderful time. The house was clean, light, beautifully maintained, and the location, right off 80, was wonderful for my kids, who hate mountain driving. There were toys for the children, a hot tub for all of us, a wonderfully comfortable, welcoming, and beautiful great room, and lovely bathrooms (one with my husband's new favorite showerhead). The kitchen was easy to work in and well-supplied. My thanks to our hosts; we look forward to staying here again. It was perfect for our family.
