Everything JUST RIGHT !!

House was in prime downtown location and yet the neighborhood was very quiet. All the shops and eateries were very handy, a well-stocked grocery store was 1 block away. Water, Shore Path, and low-tide land bridge also short walks away. The village green, where you pick up the free Island Explorer shuttle, was just a 5 minute walk away. Overall, we couldn't have been better situated.
Joe put a lot of TLC into reclaiming this house, making it a nice roomy home for the eight of us (two families). He did a good job of fairly representing the property. There was one issue with regard to heat (new plumbing wasn't working properly) but this did not create a problem at all for us even though nights in late August can be a bit cool.
Joe was there at the beginning and again at the end and was always just a cell phone call away. Otherwise he pretty much left us to our own devices - pretty laid back.
There were actually three ample parking spaces in the sideyard which was a plus. There also appeared to be a third-floor apartment (separate entrance, though interior access is also possible) but it was apparently unoccupied while we were there.
Attractions: Cadillac Mountain at sunset (of course!); the loop drive through the park (be eco-friendly and do it on the Island Explorer!); afternoon snack at Jordan Pond (pricey, but great anyway); Bar Harbor Lobster Pound (Rte 3 across from the campground) - yummmmh; mini-putt-putt next door to Lobster Pound; Bridge Street to low-tide land bridge. One place I did not like was Geddy's - lobster meal was over-priced and just not that good.
I would recommend this property to others and would definitely stay here again.
