The property is within walking distance of the Shops of Wailea. Kihei has everything!! restaurants, theater, Safeway Blockbuster and Post Office- great nearby spot to rent or sun and snorkel equipment. ~~~~~~~~~~ Haleakala - this is viewed from the Mater bedroom. It is a 10,000 foot mountain top of a volcano. Drive up before daybreak and watch the sunrise. Allow two hours for the drive and be sure to take warm clothes. Call Mountain riders to book a unforgettable bike ride down into the crater.
Places:
Hana is the home of Seven Pools. Put aside a full day for this adventure. The drive is long , along the way you will view the tropical rain forest. Purchase the CD tour of the drive. Once there you will see majestic waterfalls. Stop at Waianapanapa State Park See and visit the secluded red sand beach in Hana (park on Uakea Road, walk to the ocean and go left). ~~~~~~~ Grand Wailea - Best Spa on the Island. The walking trail adjoining all the Wailea hotels is a musts a nice walking path behind these Wailea hotels. Visit the Maui Prince for a memorable Sunday brunch-best on the island.
Snorkel :
You can't leave Maui without the experience of Snorkel. The best locations are walking distance from the house. At Ulua beach - there are showers, dressing rooms and an easy entry into calm beach- best fro beginner. Keawakapu beach directly across the street and Wailea Beach (next to Shops) are also favorite locations. Make a picnic lunch spend the day- don't forget the sunscreen Advanced snorkel frequent to La Perouse Bay. Along the beach you are certain to see turtles at Makena and Whales (season is Nov- Feb). Scuba - You can become a certified scuba diver very inexpensively on Visit the local dive shops for package deals with lessons.
