This place is definitely a New England treasure! The landscaping is beautiful with a running "brook" from the lake to the river. Bearcamp Pond is more of a lake and is probably the most beautiful place we've kayaked on. The home has been beautifully restored. There are quite a few new windows installed, refinished wide pine floors, internet access plus all "modern" conveniences such as blender, microwave, etc. There is a fireplace for cooler days/nights plus heat in 2 of the rooms. Even though the time we were there was on the cool side, the home was warm and we only used the heat on the 3 season porch (our favorite spot) a couple of times in the am. Part of the kitchen is quite old and has so much character! We never knew there was so much history in this area and loved reading about the house being built, who lived there and who lived in the surrounding homes. The only discomforts were the mosquitoes and black flies! Welcome to the woods in NH! This was noted in our contract so we were prepared and it did not deter us from venturing out. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. We were in the area for a wedding at Castle in the Clouds and had the groomsmen stay with us during the last 2 days of our vacation. The 4 men enjoyed their accommodations very much. We would definitely recommend this property.
