House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9-11)

This property is a log cabin on a private beach on Lake Island Pond. The location is perfect for any of the activities that the Northeast Kingdom has to offer. Island Pond is a two mile by one mile lake surrounded by private homes and a state park. The backyard is the lake, and across the road is Brighton State Park.

The village of Island Pond is at the other end of the lake. There are a variety of shopping and dining options. If you desire more extensive options, you can drive 20 minutes to Newport or Burke in Vermont, or 30 minutes to New Hampshire or Canada.

Island Pond is the Snowmobile Capital of Vermont, and has an extensive network of well maintained trails. Moose are frequently spotted on many of the roadsides. Other wildlife include deer, bear and game birds. Fishing is out the back door, or at any of the numerous other ponds, lakes and rivers in the region. Burke Mountain is a 20 minute drive for great family skiing. Motorcraft are permitted on Lake Island Pond, and it is a wonderful location for canoeing and kayaking as well.

The house has a main floor with living room, dining room, full kitchen, full bath and a bedroom with a queen bed. A lakeside deck adds lounging space. Upstairs is another bedroom with a full bed and a twin bed. There is also a loft with a full futon and a game area. Downstairs walks out to the beach, and has a full bath with laundry facilities. There is a full bed and a queen bed. Full linens are provided, and house cleaning is available.

Why The Owner chose Island Pond

We fell in love with the area after renting a camp for snowmobiling. It offers so many outdoor activities that we can enjoy as a family. This home caught our eyes as it had all the comforts of home and then some!

What makes this house unique

The beach and lake are great for kids. The beach is visible from the house, so kids can play in the sand by the hour. The water is shallow for a while, making it ideal for small children. The snowmobile trail is at the end of the driveway, and offers groomed routes to the entire VAST system, or Canada and New Hampshire.

Great Home, Great Location!!!

My girlfriend and I went to snowmobile. The trails were absolutely amazing, and the house topped off the experience. The owner couldn't be easier to deal with. We will be back with our Jet Ski this summer! Highly recommend!

Awesome Snowmobile Trip

Everything couldn't have been more perfect. The house is so warm, inviting and roomy and had everything we needed. The trails leading out of town are right across the street from the house. A quick ride across the lake and you're in the village of Island Pond. We can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.

What a great location! Beautiful views, steps to the sandy beach and clean waters of Island Pond, this location is also a 5 minute walk or short bike ride to the state park where there are 3 miles of walking trails and more beautiful scenery. The home is well kept will plenty of room for visitors. Looking forward to a winter stay for some snowmobiling fun. Wish we could pack up and move there for good!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. The location was perfect! Sun, sand and a beautiful view. It was a terrific week for the adults and children. So quiet during the week we felt like the pond belonged to us. Hope to be there again next year!

LOVE IT

Our family has gone to this home twice now and we looking forward to our third visit in March. Island Pond is a fantastic area and this home is just about the best location you could ask for. Owners are great to deal with and the house is excellent, could not ask for more! We love the winters there and are hoping to head there for a week this summer. Thank you for a great vacation spot!!!!
