Last year was our 50th anniversary and stayed in the lower unit. That was the first time back to Depoe Bay since our Honeymoon in 1962. For our 51st we decided to try this unit and we were not disappointed.
The view was super and the accommodations fit our needs. Over the week saw 12 whales out the front windows and two even had barnacles attached, Friends joined us for 4 of the nights which allowed us to show them the local attractions. Day trips were south to Florence/Dune City ( to visit other friends); north to Tillamook: east to the McMinnville Air/Space Museum: as well as the usual local tourist places.

We wish to once again thank Vicki and Walt for sharing their well equipped ocean view "BY THE BAY" rental. See you next year for our 52nd anniversary stay (or maybe sooner)!

Can't beat the view

Very pleasant apartment - well-equipped, conveniently located, helpful owner, quiet location. We enjoyed our stay, especially the ocean view across the street! Always changing and quite unique. Exploring Depoe Bay and the central Oregon coast were a snap from this location and coming "home" to the apartment was a welcome treat. Thank you Walt and Vicki!

Great place to relax and watch the waves

This is a great place to stay. It felt like we were at home rather than a vacation place. It has everything you could want. Comfortable furniture, big screen TVs and a collection of movies, a computer, books, magazines, music, binoculars to watch the waves, a furnished kitchen, even a washer and dryer. It's clean and well maintained.

A Great Place for a Scrap Booking Weekend!

As dedicated scrap-bookers, we are always on the look for the best place to be able to enjoy a beautiful ocean view while working on our scrapbook pages. By the Bay was perfect!. We were able to set up a table right in front of the windows and enjoy the lovely ocean view while scrap-booking to our heart's content! The rooms were spacious and well-decorated with everything we needed in all areas of the house. We will be happy to be able to return as often as possible to repeat the positive experience we had there. (We loved the selection of CDs! They were just right for a couple of ladies in their 60s. The music from our era gave us a a very pleasant walk down memory lane.) We had a pleasant, productive and relaxing four days and hope to repeat the experience as soon as possible.

Wonderful Weekend!

I had a great long weekend at "By the Bay" The house is lovely and feels very much like a home away from home. Visiting in the middle of December, the beautiful view of the ocean from the front room allowed me to enjoy the ocean without having the brave the cold. And with all of the DVDs and the TVs, everyone was able to pick their own entertainment.

I came down to get away and relax before the last holiday week and took a quick 3 day trip. With shopping and sightseeing available just around the corner, and a trip to the Outlet Mall on Saturday, I had just the recharging weekend I needed.

One Night free for each full week reserved. Full payment by credit card is required to secure a reservation. With 2 wks or more, we require 1/2 down, with the balance due 1 month before your arrival.
