Harpswell Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)
Adorable 1940's Maine Cottage with a view you will not be able to take your eyes off! Driving down to this Island home, which is connected by a bridge, you will instantly begin to feel stress melt away. This cottage boasts three charming bedrooms decorated as only Old Maine can offer.
Sleeps 5 but most of your time will be spent viewing the ocean and watching the lobster boats cut through the water as they pass your front door. You can smell them cooking in your kitchen while you set the table with the lobster dishes, crackers and utensils which are provided. If a chill is in the air, you can warm yourself by the brick wood burning fireplace. If burgers are your desire, you can flip them on the gas grill on the wrap around porch while you view the amazing sunset.
Desiring other activities.... well, we have it all near by in Brunswick, Bath or Freeport, Maine. You can shop at LL Bean 24/7, visit the Maritime Museum, catch a play at Bowdin College Theater, or dine in any of the fine Maine seafood restaurants near by.
This is a kayaking paradise! Bring your own or rentals are available near by.
Whatever you chose to do, relax, eat, swim, boat, fish or put your feet up on the porch rail, you will melt into the sunset.
'If once you have slept on an island,
You'll never be quite the same:
You may look now as you've always looked,
And go by the same name.
You may hustle about in street and shop,
You may sit at home and sew.
But you'll see blue water and wheeling gulls
Wherever your feet may go.
You may chat with neighbors of this and that,
and close to the fire keep.
But you'll hear ship whistle and lighthouse bell,
And tides beat through your sleep.
And you won't know why and you can't say how
Such a change upon you came.
But once you have slept on an island
You'll never be quite the same!'
