This unique 3 bedroom 2 bath unit is nestled atop the Merrimac Condominium located on the 80th street beach block in Avalon NJ. This well maintained building is located across the street from the Stone Harbor recreational area. This area has a baseball/softball field, soccer fields, 11 tennis courts, basketball courts, and a skateboard park. The recreational area is also home to a wonderful children's playground complete with swings, a large climb & slide jungle gym, gazebo and a full bocce court.
The Merrimac shares a block with the very popular Windrift restaurant/lounge. Connected to the 79th/80th street beach block you will find a total of 5 restaurants and 3 bars/lounges. If you venture a block further, you will find more restaurants, take-out seafood places, a pizza shop and a market.
This location is within walking distance of Stone Harbor's quaint and charming 96th Street (Main Street) with numerous restaurants, shops, famous ice cream establishments and kids’ activities such as roof top mini golf, Movie Theater, etc.
Did we mention location? Walk half a block from the condominium (crossing no streets) to the private, wide, beautiful, clean beach where you can enjoy the sand and surf. Ice cream vendors push carts along the shoreline, so you can enjoy a cold treat and an ice cold bottle of water without leaving your beach chair. When you are finished in the sand, come back to the Merrimac for a relaxing dip in the heated pool. If you are not a fan of the beach, spend your whole day at the pool, the choice is yours!
The 3 bedroom condominium is bright, spacious, recently remodeled and freshly painted. Enjoy the new, large, flat screen television mounted in the living room and watch the waves roll in from any seat on the living room sofa. Every bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan, an ihome alarm clock/docking station and flat screen television. You will find all the comforts of home while on vacation.

Add a generous portion of Center City-ites on weekends, plus a heaping handful of overprivileged high-school seniors/college seniors/single yuppies in group houses, and two pinches each of Lilly Pulitzer, Jimmy Buffett and Mercedes-Benz. Fold in friendly locals. Mix well.

Our family has rented at the Merrimack Condominium for years before we purchased. We always dreamed of owning a unit in the building. Avalon NJ, specifically the Merrimac Condominium has always been an incredibly enjoyable family vacation spot. We were able to realize our lifelong dream of owning a unit when real estate prices started to decline a few years ago. Now we are busy making many improvements to our ‘home at the shore.’ We invite you to bring your family and share our home on your next vacation.
A wonderful feature is the covered deck area outside of our unit. You can dine, enjoy a cocktail, or play cards on the table located in the deck area. Rain or shine, sit and watch the waves free from nature's elements.
The place looks absolutely beautiful!! This is our 4th year in this unit and the changes are amazing. We have always loved the beautiful ocean views. Thank you for another great year and we look forward to next year!
This was our first trip to Avalon for our family of 6 and we were unsure of what to expect with the condo, property and town. The condo certainly surpassed our expectations with newly updated (gorgeous) bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen with washer/dryer, and TVs in every bedroom. The condo layout worked well for our larger family. The owner even put together a welcome binder for guests that included restaurant information, renter 'favorites' for restaurants, and things to do in Avalon. We did have a slight problem with the air conditioning but after sending the owner an email, he responded immediately and it was repaired the same day. I should add that the owner communicated with me via email for almost an entire year answering all my questions and he was happy to do so!
My kids enjoyed going to the beach in the morning and using the pool in the late afternoon. Having a pool on property was very appealing to us as most home rentals didn't include a pool. The location of the property was a short walk to the beach, park (across the street) and windrift hotel. I couldn't be more pleased with our accommodations and very attentive homeowner. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We are looking forward to our return trip next year!
I booked the condo for our annual "Sisters Week" but also invited our husbands for the Labor Day holiday weekend - they had to be out by Tuesday morning! (This was my second time at the Merrimac and first time in this condo).
We all had a BLAST! We love the layout of this place - from it's awesome big dining room and newly remodeled kitchen to the three bedrooms to the lovely living room with ocean views. Everything is bright and new and comfortable. It's really nice to have two full bathrooms, too. Having the beach chairs and beach tags provided is another big bonus that other places we've rented do not provide.
I can't say enough about how great the owner is! Anthony was always available to answer any questions I had. He clearly enjoys being able to share his beautiful beach home with his renters and makes everything very easy.
The pool is pretty great - never too crowded, plenty of chairs and tables and always very clean. We spent part of every day there.
I could go on but suffice it to say that we are already booked for next summer! Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful home, Anthony!
This unit has become our one week home away from home for our annual Avalon vacation. Everything you could possible need is here. From the stocked kitchen with the cork-screw to the extra beach chairs and boogie boards in the closet, this unit works perfectly for our family. The large kitchen allows us to host an annual dinner for friends and family. The pool waits as an oasis for parents and kids after a hot day at the beach. A baseball field and basketball courts keep my kids busy in the off hours and it's all within walking distance to Springer's in Stone Harbor. Can't ask for much more than that! We love it!
This unit is great. Being on vacation and still feeding, cleaning and doing laundry is
even restful. Our family loves the unit and all it offers. The ocean views from the deck is spectacular. There are plently of sleeping arrangements, and room for guests. We can't
wait to come back this year and see the kitchen.

What a great island, and a perfect condominium! We had not been to the New Jersey shore before last summer. Avalon in summer is like something from a fairytale. There are so many beautiful families everywhere, it is so wholesome and seems like a place from long, long ago. This condominium is clean, spacious and wonderfully appointed. Wonderful decor, perfect ocean views and located in the best beach block location you can ask for. Wide, clean beaches, wonderful heated pool, my family will be returning for years to come!
