About Cathy Morgan, Your Time in Ireland SR

Hello there: I am a native Galwegian, and returned home some years ago to this lovely town/city. Having lived overseas and very well-travelled over the years with a lively & engaged family, we've put our experiences into developing a smart & savvy short-rentals service, in both Galway and Dublin. We love these locations, as they are such interesting places to spend time in. We know you'll truly enjoy exploring the many activities always available and our part is to ensure you have a luxurious & perfect home-from-home to work from. A marvelous variety of theatre, music sessions, arts & literary events, and the beautiful outdoors await you at all times. Our mission is simple - provide you with an excellent & special base easy to manage and refreshing to spend time in. Your mission is to unfurl from the busy world out there, and enjoy every moment of your stay!

Why Cathy Morgan, Your Time in Ireland SR chose Galway City Area

The Crescent is a unique and very special part of original Galway City. By tradition it has a mix medical & legal people maintaining consulting rooms in the period houses along the street. We truly enjoy ensuring that our guests are well looked after in a great location. You can view our Google map link and see how well The Crescent is located so close to - but not in the thick of - a delightfully crowded & buzzing centre of town, which can become hugely busy & lively in the summer season & at festival times! At the Coach House, you are just a 5-minute walk from the romance & fun of of Quay Street & the surrounding Latin Quarter.

What makes this house unique

Fabulous location, close to excellent walks, and then restaurants, cafes & traditional Irish pubs! Beautiful interior to relax into, with separate & smart-appliances kitchen, power showers, a natural stone open fireplace in the spacious living room and wireless broadband are yours to indulge in during your stay.

The Coach House is 5-star sensibility & comfort with many thoughtful extras. There is great peace & privacy, being the only residential unit along our private lane on The Crescent.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This place is a Wow! It's new & intriquing, with the architect-designed layout, colours & artwork are impressive. It's spacious and extremely well finished. For 6 of us, there was everything we could need - beautiful kitchen & all utensils, fresh bedroom linens - all superb quality, hi-speed wireless internet and satellite tv. Walking into town centre & taking the sea air at Salthill was delightful, and thrilling on a windy day. The Welcome Basket & fresh flowers from the owner's garden were so genuine and helpful. We would highly recommend this for a 5-star holiday stay in Galway. We felt so welcomed & settled in so quickly. Very cool and well worth the price.

Great Realizations!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this address on the Crescent many times now (in Silver Teal) but this was my first opportunity to stay at The Coach House. My Mother is elderly and would not have made her way successfully up the stairs. So, time to give Coach House a go. It was, simply, wonderful. As a former Travel Agent, Mother holds to a fairly high and honest standard; she does not mince words. What can I say, gentle readers? She loved it. Yes, all that was said prior regarding the narrow lane is true. Not a bad walk though, even for an octogenarian. But from the moment you enter the flat you can softly exhale all worries knowing you will be staying in a calm and comforting home. Not a sterile hotel room. You will have space to really relax. Buy some briquettes and have a fire in the wonderfully working hearth. We had local family over during some crummy weather for drinks before dinner. Inclement outside, cozy-warm in front of the fire with an adult beverage and delicious foods from Sheridan's. Like we lived in Galway! Put another way, you are staying in an understated, natural elegance. Wonderful touches. Small climb to the upstairs. Rooms beautifully appointed. Yes, some bathroom sharing may be inevitable; so what? The location is quiet. You will sleep well. Don't worry about a "view". You are not going to be looking out, but enjoying friends or family within. Lastly, all that has been said about Liz (who will greet you) is true. Fantastic hostess, excellent adventure-advice, superb welcome basket-and all done with incredible good spirit and energy. Wish, actually, that I was there right now. So, my Mother has said, does she. I am, however, always thinking of the next time...

8 nights at the Coach House for the four of us

  • 5 of 5

We knew the Coach House was going to be nice from the pictures and you can never go wrong in Galway. It was incredible. We have been to Galway 4 times in the last 10 years. This trip was for a wedding so we didn't want to stay with family members. My financee, two sisters and I really loved the Coach House. We all had so much space. My financee found the VRBO on line from our desks in San Diego. All we told her was Galway and make it central. It was exactly that. 3 minute walk to Kai, 3 and a half to The Crane, maybe 10 to Monroe's. We walked to my uncle's house in Coogan Park. We walked to every corner of Eirye Square. 2 of the nights we stayed in and enjoyed the Coach House. Incredibly clean, warm, fireplace, dishes, hair blow dryers for the girls, skylights, incredible bedding (I slept in every day-window open listening to some rain), heated floors to walk across, gift basket, blankets everywhere, bags for the grocery store, I really could go on an on. Full kitchen so lovely. We walked to grocery store two short blocks away.

Liz was so nice to us. She welcomed us, accepted our phone calls with questions about town, and really reminded me of Irish hospitality.

Trip of a Lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous place. Liz is a wonderful and very entertaining lady. The Coach house is immaculate and everything from the bedrooms/baths and kitchen is just like home. We (6 of us) stayed for just over3 weeks mid-Sept to mid-Oct. 2013. I love to do the cooking, so we prepared most of our meals here. The kitchen has everything one needs. Even a very well stocked spice cabinet. There is a good grocery store within five minutes, so no trouble finding food supplies. It's a lovely walk to the city, just over the river Corrib. We took tours to The Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Connemara. Spectacular scenery. Galway is a gem of a city. Virtually everything within walking distance. The pubs are wonderful, there is a farmer's market in town on the week-end. Lot's of fresh vegetables, arts and crafts. I cannot say enough, and we cannot wait to return. Sla'inte.

HFantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect spot for 1-10 pp. We spent a week here (10 pp in our family) & it was a great central location. Walking distance to all Galway has to offer & to public transportation for venturing off. The accommodations were complete & relaxing. We would (& have) highly recommend The Coach House & the Silver Teal apts for a visit to Ireland! Thank you Cathy & Liz! Our parents had a most memorable 50th anniversary trip (as did we)!

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here, the owner has put so much thought in design and comfort, I really appreciated this. All of her recommendations for dining were excellent, Kai being my favorite. Day trips to Clifden and Aran Islands and golf (even Ballybunion!) were fun and easy, and of course coming home to the cozy coach house was so nice. thank you!

A Hidden Gem!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in the Coach House, a lovely three-bedroom property hidden behind the Crescent. The Coach House was very nice, and very well appointed, with three nice bedrooms, a sitting or TV room, a kitchen with dining area, two full baths and two half baths (make sure Liz shows you how the flush the toilet in the half bath in the entry - it's tricky), and a laundry area. The property was quite spacious. Everything you would want in a vacation rental - and more - was provided for us. I've stayed in VRBO properties all over the US, and I've never had a welcome basket of food provided for me. The welcome basket was extremely helpful and saved us from having to go shopping right away, as well as being full of yummy items. All the appliances (such as the washer/dryer) worked well. The location was good, only about a city block away from a grocery store, and about a ten minute walk into the start of the downtown area. It was about a 20-25 minute walk to the main square and the bus that takes you to the Aran Islands. It was a five minute walk to the nearest playground if you're traveling with kids. It was a bit difficult for taxi drivers to find, as Devon Place is really just a driveway. If you direct your taxi driver to Number 1, the Crescent, you'll be pretty close and then you go down a driveway around the back to the Coach House. We would definitely stay here again.
