|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
Unique sought after location in delightful Downtown Dunedin's historic main street. Secluded heated private pool. 10 mins drive from miles of flat golden sand at Clearwater Beach & unspoilt sub-tropical Honeymoon & Caledisi Islands. 45mins from Tampa's Busch Gardens, Adventure Island water park & Aquarium. 90 mins from Orlando's attractions & Disneyworld. Superb selection of restaurants & bars within walking, including gourmet, smokehouse, Mexican/vegetarian, Italian eating, a fun Irish bar and waterfront bistros with spectacular sunsets and more! Lovely antique & craft shops, boutiques & galleries within walking and a variety of national stores within a short drive. 37 miles of safe flat leisure trail alongside our home for walking, jogging, cycling (cycles available) and roller booting/blading.
Meet the locals at the nearby baseball and football stadiums and see Florida and Floridians as they really are. Visit 'Winter' the dolphin - star of the movie Dolphin Tale at Clearwater and local flea markets. Nearby toddlers’ playground and free splash-ground. Two 18-hole golf courses nearby plus 30 courses locally. Boating, pier & deep sea fishing, jet skiing, parascending, kayaking, dolphin encounters, manatee spotting and alligator encounters.
Our guests often start by choosing the Gulf Coast as a haven of peace and tranquillity following a hectic time in Orlando but find they love Dunedin so much they choose is as their base next time - and dip into the theme parks for a few days, especially as Busch Gardens, Adventure Island Water Park and Tampa aquarium are only 45 mins away.
Our home is quiet and peaceful but not isolated - step outside and you meet the friendly locals but inside privacy is ensured with our completely secluded garden and caged heated private pool. Our large sitting room/dining area with cable TV, internet connection, DVD and CD player opens onto the pool area with sun-beds, dining area and barbecue via two sets of patio doors enabling a view of any children playing in the pool - which ours do non-stop - even after a day in Orlando or on the beaches. If that's not enough - take little ones to the playground near the marina or the local splash-ground and give the older ones barbecue bones on string to catch crabs from the pier or a cycle ride along the safe and flat Pinellas Trail just outside our home!
Firstly let me say thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful home it is absolutely gorgeous and sooo welcoming and the area is lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it is a beautiful little house and in the most perfect location. We enjoyed strolling up and down the Pinellas Trail and making use of your cycles. We also used the cool boxes, umbrella and beach chairs for a day at the beach. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing way to finish off our holiday.
Many thanks again for our lovely introduction to Gulf Coast life.
We stayed in the villa for a week after 9 hectic days in Orlando, and had a fantastic time - thoroughly enjoyed everything the house, and Dunedin has to offer. It was such a tonic to spread out and relax. The house is spacious and extremely well equipped. It was ideally situated for us to explore the area and had more than enough facilities for our family of 5. The kids loved the pool and we had a BBQ using the great new BBQ provided when we arrived (Thank You). Highly recommended, the photos don't do the house justice, you won't be disappointed!
the minute we opened the door on this house i fell in love with it, it is so bright airy and cosy. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable with every conceivable extra, available for your use. The town of Dunedin is an absolute haven amongst all the hustle and bustle that is general for this area,it was only 2minutes walk to main street with restaurants bars and little boutique stlyle shops, with lots of antiques and a divine little home made ice cream shop. the pinellas trail is 10 mtre from the front door and can take you to all kinds of places of interest. All things considered i could quite happily live here, never mind return just once or twice
the villa was perfect for out visit, it is close to great restaurants and the sunsets at the end of the street were amazing will book again thank you for a wonderful time in your home
We stayed in this villa for 8 nights. The villa is clean and welcoming and the owners very helpful. It is a quiet neighbourhood close the some great restaurants and cafes. The children enjoyed the private pool and the local wildlife spending a great deal of time watching the ospreys. The pool pump broke and it was fixed within a day. The house is very spacious, clean and tidy. Efficient and QUIET air con - always a bonus. Super holiday would definetly recommend.
We wholeheartedly recommend this Villa, it is bright, clean, fully equipped and welcoming and in a superb location where you can walk to the local cafes and ice cream parlour or down to the Marina, within a minute or two. Dunedin is lovely with craft shops and quality restaurants galore! If you like early morning or sunset walks this is the place, beautiful waterside walks or just sit at the Marina bar and watch the sun go down...bliss!
The netted pool is small so not suitable for lengths but great to cool off after a long day at Orlando or for general fun with the kids. There are numerous pool toys in the garage and bikes too.
Barbara, the owner, was very helpful, we had a long chat before we set off so knew of the best restaurants and walks before we arrived.
An excellent 2 weeks, thank you very much.
Our family, consisting of 5 adults and 2 children (3 and 7), enjoyed our stay in this home. Everything promised was there. The home was clean and well equipped.
The town of Dunedin is a special town. The people were friendly and the eating establishments were fun as well as very good. We had never before stayed in a town on vacation but are very glad we decided to spend our week in Dunedin. We ate breakfast at Kelly's and Broadway Deli. Both were very good with unusual choices. We ate dinner at Kelly's and Cafe Alfresco, lunch at Jolli Mon's Grill, Kelly's and Cafe Alfresco - all very good.
The children enjoyed days and evenings in the pool. We loved the dog friendliness of the town, the bars, and some restaurants. The trail was walked several times daily. It was also used for biking and jogging. We went to Clearwater Beach several times and had a terrific experience there also.
Honeymoon Island was a slight disappointment. Dogs were to be kept always on leash - even in the water. We are used to being able to allow our dogs to swim without a leash as long as they are under control. But, they were allowed on the beach.
We would recommend this property and Dunedin to family, friends and strangers.
Unique location in real Florida - our villa is located in historic Downtown Dunedin - not on a huge housing development where a car is necessary every time you step outside - our neighbours are local Floridians. We walk to the waterside with its lovely marina, to the old railway track which is now the Pinellas Leisure Trail and offers walking, jogging and roller booting, to a great variety of restaurants/bars, shops/boutiques and the local baseball stadium to share a pizza and pint with the locals. In addition, we are only 10/15 minutes drive from miles of flat golden sand, restaurants and facilities at Clearwater Beach or unspoilt sub-tropical Honeymoon Island and Caledisi Island which is a short ferry hop away. 45 mins takes you to Tampa with Busch Gardens and Adventure Island water park, the Aquarium and great kayaking on the Hillsborough River - Orlando is 90 min away. Even more - a new splash ground - a smaller version of those at the the theme parks for young children - has just opened less than 10 mins away and it's free. This compliments the playground we have just a couple of mins from home near the marina. Also, 'Winter' the dolphin, star of the movie 'Winters Tale' is resident at the marine animal hospital at Clearwater where some of the scenes from the movie were filmed.
