Open the front door into the soaring two story living/dining room to your left, which features exposed beams and multiple skylights. The living room has ample seating, a small dining table with chairs, and a large screen LCD HD TV. The adjoining dining room comfortably seats eight. Open to the dining room, the kitchen features lots of cherry cabinetry, granite, and stainless steel appliances. To your right from the front door entry is the master bedroom with a queen bed and comfy bedding. Also on the first floor is a bathroom and laundry room. Located off the dining room is a deck outfitted with a gas grill and outdoor tables and chairs providing seating for eight. The deck abuts conservation land so privacy is assured. The back of the house features an enclosed outdoor hot/cold water shower with bench seating. Back inside, one mounts the open staircase to the second floor which features a stunning open loft, outfitted with a daybed and trundle. To the right of the stairs is a sunny bathroom and bedroom with two twin beds and trundles. All bedrooms have A/C units. This fabulous vacation home is less than two miles from Old Silver and Chappaquoit Beaches and close to the Shing Sea Bike Path, connecting it to many beaches, Woods Hole, and Falmouth Village.

We love this home and have already had Thanksgiving and a 50th birthday celebration here!! This house has great party flow!! Very family friendly. I have been going to Old Silver Beach since I was a baby and hope to take my first grandchild there next summer!!!! Indeed a very special and beautiful home away from the fracas of 'the village'(you can drive there in 10 mins) yet close to the best beaches!!!!
Kathy Gray purchased this house in 2009
Easy- The summers here are breezy and 'cool' compared to, say, Hilton Head where I spent a few summers. Plus gotta love lobster!! You can drive 10 minutes to town and catch a ferry (beautiful 30 minute ride) to Martha's Vineyard and explore- take your bike and a towel!!! Also we ride our bikes to West Falmouth market where you can get wine, fresh baked goods, subs and pizza to order, and it has the best butcher shop in Falmouth.
Abuts conservation land so it's quiet!!! You can drive 10 mins. to the noise of Falmouth Village and enjoy some fabulous Zagat rated restaurants and come home to lovely peace and quiet. Also, you get the charm of a Cape without the claustrophobic feel of the same. Our house is so open that you never get the feeling that you need to duck your head!! The kids love it.
It's superb! I heard more crickets than cars and saw more stars than I could count!
Thanks so much for the awesome vacation!
We took Kathy's advice and started our vacation at the Chapoquoit "Chappy" Grill. We had the best garlic knots and pasta for dinner and breakfast in the morning :-)
The ready-to-cook-dinner, lunch, and breakfast kitchen was awesome. Some kind soul left a number of spices so we didn't have to splurge on those! The bed was a made when we arrived, what a treat after a long day on the road! Excellent Wi-Fi and Internet connection (coming from an IT guy) is most appreciated!
We did some geocaching one afternoon, went to the beach nearby (Old Silver Beach), sat on the back patio and played board games (King of Tokyo especially) and drank wine (thanks Kappy's Liquors), and went out for trivia night at an English pub.
An awesome, relaxing week at this house.
I will definitely be back! Prepare for referrals :-)
Extremely happy with our stay at this property. Property was better than described and spotless. It is very convenient to bike path and beaches. Enjoyed every minute of the peace and quite in this tranquil neighborhood.
Please don't let the length of time between our stay and the timing of this post be any indication of anything other than top marks for a fabulous VRBO experience. On the contrary . . . the time we spent in your home away from our home is still on my mind. Kathy was accommodating from the get-go. Not only did we have an unusual Wed - Wed stay, but I realized I had forgotten the house key en-route to the airport. No problem. Kathy and her husband saved the day.
The house is extremely comfortable and well-appointed. All our kitchen, dining, clothes washing, etc. needs were surpassed. And we are picky. Our 3yo absolutely loved all the toys and the fun-friendly bedroom, complete w/ trundle. Yes, that's where she wanted to sleep. I think we called it glamping. I'm not sure if I should thank you or curse you for introducing her to the addictive habit of creating beaded jewelry.
I had business to conduct both down at WHOI and elsewhere on the Cape, and the location was perfect. I'm an avid runner and being only a stone's throw away from the Shining Sea Bikeway was a godsend.
The close proximity to downtown (only a short drive) as well as to Old Silver Beach (another short drive) suited everyone to a T.
My priorities when traveling are mainly safety and comfort. The house is in a sublimely quiet neighborhood littered with other children. We were there when it was a bit too cold to don our swimsuits, so I can only imagine what fun we'll have when we return for another work/play-cation in the warmer months.
Thanks for taking such good care of us, Kathy.
We had the absolute BEST time here! The house was perfect for us! Very comfortable & cozy. We have 2 little ones & they loved how there were toys around for them. We all loved the outside shower & hanging out on the deck. The kitchen has everything you need. The location is very close to everything. We were impressed & definitely want to come back here. So happy!!
We absolutely loved the house. It was immaculate and the location was ideal. We went on many day trips, Boston, Salem, Outer Cape, Newport, RI, and this was the perfect starting point. Any which way was a short trip. Also, very close to the beach. Kitchen was well stocked and lots of toys and books up in the loft for little kids. Beds & pillows all very comfy. Recommended for families as well as adults looking for a great space to get away. All the comforts of home.
We stayed here for 3 weeks and really enjoyed the house: everything is made in the best possible way, build with great plan, taste, and pride. Located in a very quiet street, where neighbors stop by to say hi and wish you a great stay; Plenty of beaches are within 5 minutes ride, Falmouth center is 7 minutes driving. And you can't beat the fact that it takes only an hour to get here from Boston, so if you plan to travel back and forth - you can't find a better place!
The description was right on the point, the owner was super-responsive whatever you ask. So it's a great deal: house with a porch, very private setting - we're planning to come again!
