San Francisco Vacation Rental apartment

Stayed here mid 2007. I am a former Bay Area resident, so I know the city well, along with the accomodations.

Things I liked about this place - although it's SOMA, still a good location. Not too far from BART and in a busy enough area you can get a cab without too much difficulty. The apartment was also updated, cute and quaint. Fresh flowers were put out for our stay, which was a nice touch. The kitchen was stocked with wine and snacks, also a nice touch.

Things I didn't like so much, the noise factor. The flat is in an area where many homeless sleep at night. I don't consider them dangerous, but they make a lot of noise. There is also a lot of traffic noise, hence even with earplugs it is hard to sleep. The place wasn't particularly clean. There wasn't obvious filth, but it needed a bit more scrubbing. The bedrooms and bathroom are also VERY SMALL - which is typical for a city flat, but important to know if you are expecting something different. And although it says two bedrooms, the second bedroom was a single bed in a closet size room. No closet or really any room to put your stuff, in other words, not really a bedroom at all.

So with that all said, I did enjoy staying here more than I would have in a hotel. It allowed me to have access to a full kitchen, and to have friends over for entertaining purposes. The price was also very reasonable when compared to the average SF hotel room. Thus if your looking for something affordable and decent, this is a solid choice.
