Photos and Description of the St Pete Beach vacation bungalow rental
Bungalow, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This fun island-themed beachfront bungalow, a relaxing getaway from the daily grind of the real world, has unbelievable views of the Gulf of Mexico. Located on Gulf Way in the timeless Pass-a-Grille historic district of St. Pete Beach, our cheerful 1908 beach home features 10 ft. high ceilings, delightful front and back porches, hard wood flooring, and a hidden New Orleans-style courtyard ideal for entertaining guests. In the home there are 2 bedrooms and two baths. For your viewing pleasure there is a 50 inch flat screen wall mounted t.v. in the living room with a Blue Ray disc player and Universal control. We also have a detached garage and street parking is easily available for parking additional cars.

You won't be able to miss the cool gulf breezes and unbelievable Florida sunsets in this home. While preparing meals in the kitchen, look out the sliding glass doors and witness the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico right outside your home! Walk a couple of blocks and discover fun island-themed restaurants and shops along 10th, 9th and 8th Avenues or karaoke all day long outdoors under an umbrella right on our exquisite beach at the The Seaside Grill restaurant. On 10th Avenue, directly across the street from the Seaside Grill and beach supply store, is the highly popular three-story Hurricane restaurant, one of the premier beach restaurants on St. Pete Beach. After a long day enjoying the sand and water, catch breathtaking sunsets from the Hurricane's rooftop deck while enjoying a cocktail and listening to live music.

Pass-a-Grille beach is a wide sandy beach that stretches several miles along the Gulf directly in front of the bungalow. If you walk south you will hit the rock jetty on Pass-A-Grille Pass where the Gulf meets the Intercoastal. If you head north about a mile along the beach you will be at the infamous pink Don Cesar Hotel where you can enjoy your favorite drink by the pool or enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the Don's world-class restaurants.

Although you have easy access to local entertainment, this is a surprisingly private home, with a glorious location in the heart of Pass-a-Grille. The community features include tennis courts, a community center, shuffleboard, the trolley line, beachfront, intercoastal, playgrounds, basketball courts, and parks.

Catch the Suncoast Beach trolley 1/2 block from the house to access all of the Gulf Beaches, including Clearwater Beach. The trolley runs every 20 to 30 minutes from 5am to 10 pm 7 days a week and until midnight on Friday and Saturday evenings. The trolley is well air-conditioned, has highly tinted windows, and you can even bring your bike! If you want to go to downtown St. Pete the trolley also connects to various bus routes which can take you there. Besides its regular stops, every few blocks there are bus stop signs where you can catch the trolley as well. The fare is $1.50 and the all day fare card is $3.50.

About Patricia Van Bibber

I'm a Florida native who grew up in Miami during the 50's and 60's, and my husband and I have been Tampa residents since 1982. For years I have longed for a place that was reminiscent of the old Miami that I grew up in, undeveloped and unspoiled, and I've finally found it!! Our beloved 'Bell Bungalow' is located on Gulf Way, in quaint Pass-a-Grille. It provides that old Florida small town feeling right on beautiful St. Pete beach!! My husband and I look forward to sharing with you the joy of coastal living by opening up our beach retreat to you and your family. We have two grown identical twin daughters and have just been blessed with the birth of our first grandchild. In addition, we have two rescued pets -a white Maltese and a lively Siamese cat.

Second visit this year!

I rented this beautiful beach bungalow in January 2012. It was so wonderful I planned a girl's getaway for September 2012. Two friends from Texas and one from Missouri joined me (I only live 40 minutes from here!) for a week at Pass-A-Grille. This home is absolutely perfect! Perfectly located across the street from the beach. Perfectly comfortable - Patricia (the owner) does not skimp on bedding or linens!! Perfectly situated within walking distance to amazing restaurants...Black Palm, Seahorse, The Hurricane, Brass Monkey, Restaurant Su Ottavo, and the Paradise Grill were just a few we visited. Perfect sunsets on the second story balcony!! We may have visited Bamboozle (an adorable boutique - also within walking distance) a little too often, but we all came away with great new casual outfits for our next beach getaway!

Patricia and her husband are amazing hosts. We had a minor problem with the air conditioning in the second story bedroom. I contacted Patricia, she called the AC company immediately; they arrived within one hour and fixed the problem. Patricia also sent her husband to meet the AC technicians so our daytime beach plans would not be interrupted!

My friends and I all agree - we will definitely be back for another visit!!!

A taste of paradise

This was a return visit to Patricias beach house, even better than before, with its new exterior colour scheme.
We thought it would be a great idea to give the house a bad review to put off renters so it would be kept "our secret"!!!!!!!!.
The house is perfectly located in Pass a Grille which is busy during the day, but just after sunset the visitors depart and it becomes serene.
Best points -
Shave ice and great ice creams one block away
Corn Toss on the beach
Shuffleboard courts yards away
The Black Palm when you want to have a great meal
Fishing at night off the intracostal piers ( till 2am one night when we lost all track of time)
sitting on the deck watching to world go by

the perfect holiday destination

Owner's Response: Jackie,
Thank you for your wonderful review. It was a pleasure to have you and your lovely family return to PAG for a 2nd visit. I know what you mean with "wanting to keep it a secret". It truly is a special place and thanks for treating my home as your own. I hope you continue to visit and make it a yearly family tradition...

Wonderful Stay

Pass - a - Grille is a wonderful historic place! Staying at this bungalow made our trip sooooooo comfortable. It was clean and just as described on the web page. The house is wonderful, the beach is wonderful, the fact that you can leave your car parked and walk anywhere you need to go is wonderful. The owner is very helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant down the street, Vida de Cafe, is wonderful. We had been to Pass - a - Grille before, but staying in this house made our trip so much more enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan to go back several more times to this home away from home.

One our best vacations

We stayed here over the Chrstmas week with family and friends and had one of our best vacations. This historic beach house is beautifully redone and it's proximity to the beach, the little town of Pass-A-Grille and the stunning views from the newly built 2nd floor deck will keep us coming back. Patricia, the owner could not have been more responsive or helpful in taking care of us.We arrived on Christmas Eve to a beautifully decorated home which made us all feel the Christmas spirit. The beds were comfortable and the linens and comforters made for a great nights sleep. We loved the beachy feel of the house and the outside areas, a side deck and private backyard courtyard were great. A definite 5 star rating.

Quaint bungalow at a great location

We spent one week in the bungalow in October 2011. The owners were nice and very accomodating on our arrival and then we had privacy to explore Pass-a-grille for ourselves. Here are some notes for pros/cons on the trip:

Acccomodations: The bungalow is very historic and quaint looking. The floors creak and you can tell it is an old house but well maintained and if you are like us that makes the house nicer than new cookie cutter houses. The kitchen and baths are nicely upgraded with marble and very clean. It was just me, my wife and our 3yr old. Both bedrooms were nicely decorated. The location is perfectly located across the street from the beach and you can see the gulf from standing on the deck but less so when seated. The upstairs has an amazing view of the beach and great sunset viewing. I highly recommend renting the upstairs room if a view is important to you.

The big LCD TV is a nice touch for watching Blu-rays but watching TV was a bit frustrating due to the location of the receiver in the bedroom. We didn't come to watch a lot of TV so it wasn't an issue. It was nice to have a big/modern TV for movies though, it was a great upgrade by the owners.

The location cannot be better. You are close enough to walk anywhere. Literally one block from good restaurants, bars, ice cream, shops. One block behind the house was the bay! so you have the gulf/beach/swimming/shells on one side and fishing/boating at the pier on the other side. And the shuffle board park is right next door. Great town to walk around in. Also, a short car ride to Fort DeSoto. We even drove to Disney one day and went on a canoe trip outside of Tampa another.

Other nice items: Having the covered parking spot in back was great. Parking out front can get very tight. The kitchen is nicely equipped but I would recommend that every beach house has at least one good non-stick pan or griddle.(perhaps bring your own or have amazon ship one there for you) It makes breakfasts easier. The gas grill (and charcoal) out back was perfect for us. Good quality grill too! For large groups it may be too small but more than enough for us to cook. The back patio is great as well, nice and private and well decorated. The screened porch on the front is a nice touch and the hose on the deck to wash off sandy feet.

I would definitely recommend this very highly as a vacation!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your overall great review Sean!
However, I wish you would have requested (by e-mail, text or phone call) a non-stick skillet or griddle and I would have been more than happy to drop a new one off for you immediately, on the back porch, without disturbing you. After reading your review, much to my dismay, I checked and found that our non-stick omelette skillet was missing. So, I really apologize for that. It has been replaced with a new one!
As for the television: I did inform you upon arrival, that unfortunately our 'universal control' (that shoots its signal through the fireplace and walls) had broken and we had not yet (unfortunately) received its' replacement. I explained the cable remote would work well to change channels, but you'd need to be sitting in the bamboo living room chair (by the wall) and point the control towards the bedroom door, to do so. I felt very badly about the control, but it was not something I could rectify, at the time. We have received the replacement universal control, programmed it and it is working beautifully, once again.
Sean, so glad you, your wife and little one had the opportunity to visit, explore and enjoy our charming and unique little beachtown of Pass-a-grille, and our gorgeous surrounding area. Thank you once again for choosing our bungalow for your stay...
