Overview

Pine Mountain Club Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

Spring is here, and it's bright and beautiful in Pine Mountain Club!

We're currently offering our popular midweek special: Pay for 2 midweek nights and stay for 3!

Please note: Conditions apply with regard to our one-night minimum stay. Ask first!

We recently acquired the property adjacent to the cabin, a park-like space now available to our guests! It contains a horseshoe pit (bring your horseshoes and go for it!); a rock pond with a waterfall, filled in the spring; a picnic table; many seating areas and benches; three covered benches for reading or relaxation; a wishing well; a windmill; walking paths; and decorative garden art. We hope our guests enjoy this new property and new feature of Anya's Cottage.

Please contact us if you wish to rent only the outdoor space for day events. Contact us also about special events and retreats.

We truly believe that you will not find another cabin more lovingly decorated, each piece acquired one at a time, to complement the beauty of the mountain. Our cabin has been used by more than one film crew and for a number of club retreats. It borders the protected national forest and has a soothing, seasonal stream on the property. It is private and tucked in tall pines but is walking distance to the village where you can shop for groceries, browse for antiques, go to the local coffeehouse, dine, and listen to local music.

The cabin has undergone a full cleaning and an attractive renovation, which includes new spa tile in the main bathroom; a rain shower head; hardwood flooring up and downstairs; a beautiful, full-sized, new stove and hood; new vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom; some new furniture and decorations; coffee maker; new stainless steel pot and pan set; DVD and CD player; new log bed for the second bedroom (now in addition to the one in the master bedroom); new IKEA twin bed and mattresses; 6 new pillows--4 down and 2 hypo-allergenic; designer down comforters; and, new fixtures in the downstairs bath. We also have some new deck furniture. But, most importantly: we finally have hooked up the propane heater! And, what a difference it makes. Having gas heat in the bedroom/main bath area keeps you more toasty than most of the cabins do which tend to have electric heaters here in PMC. And, upstairs, the wood stove keeps you as warm as you'd like!

We've just had the carpets and the upholstered chair/ottoman professionally cleaned, so the cabin sparkles!

We've also added a fire pit to the upstairs deck.

This 1200+ square foot, two-story cabin has two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized log bed and a twin, the other with a full-sized log bed and a twin); a fold-out bed; a large fold-out sleeping pad; one-and-one-half baths; is paneled in knotty pine throughout and has hardwood floors up and downstairs; and filled with authentic vintage mountain furnishings, antiques, and cozy quilts. It also has several decks where you can relax in pure solitude and privacy and enjoy the tranquil scenery. And, if you simply can't leave all of civilization behind, the cabin comes equipped with free high-speed, broadband wireless Internet access (Wifi).

Be sure to visit Fern's Lake which is half a block away. Kids, bring your fishing poles! In winter, you can sled just steps behind the property.

The clubhouse in the village offers many activities and amenities, including golf, an outdoor pool (from Memorial Day to Labor Day), a bistro, and a recreation room for the children. Our guests receive use of four free guest passes for their entire stay. Mount Abel (Cerro Noroeste) and Mount Pinos (over 8000 feet) are nearby. Pine Mountain Club also offers a number of festivals throughout the year.

The cabin sits at 5400 feet, so come and enjoy the snow in the winter, the bright blue skies and sunshine in the spring and summer, and the colors in autumn. You will not be disappointed.

I keep my calendar current. FOR FASTEST RESPONSE, EMAIL YOUR REQUEST, or text me at 805.710.7897. Thanks!

Good location, good decks, lots of trees

  • 5 of 5

Large 2-story cabin, wood-burning stove, both decks have a tree-house feel. Furnished throughout with vintage alpine artifacts; wood-chip meadow in front and trees in back. Saw three deer Saturday morning. Value-priced, pet friendly, and easy to access from I-5.

We loved it

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The weather was very wintery--we saw snow! The cabin was super cute. Warm, cozy, very clean, and adorable. Our kids has a great time watching the videos and playing games by the wood fire when we weren't outside. We hated to leave. We will be back and stay a week!

Best. Cabin. Ever.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for another wonderful stay! We have stayed at this lovely cabin more than once and keep coming back. The cabin keeps getting better and better. Very clean, and lots of new items added each time we stay. We so much enjoyed the open space attached to the cabin that is now available for guests to use. We had a picnic there and played horseshoes!

And, of course, the setting can't be beat--private and quiet and beautiful.

We recommend this cabin without any hesitation. The owner is delightful and very helpful. She does all she can to make your stay a special one. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Our worst ever rental and Owner experience

  • 1 of 5

We booked 3 nights for Aug 8 and then 5 nights for Labor Day weekend based on pictures, description, and ratings. What a disaster this rental turned out to be after many great VRBO experiences. The owner told us all about her law degree and the legal risk of writing a negative review . Perhaps other renters may have felt threatened when they complained and just decided not to write negative reviews. I find some of the positive review very hard to believe after our experience, but then many of them are from past years. We do all have different opinions on cleanliness, and what we found was disgusting to us but maybe not to you. We took dozens of pictures showing the conditions we found and sent some to the owner. We told the owner why we could not stay even though it meant leaving after 1 night (we arrived too late to drive back home), and we had to cancel our 5 day labor day stay too. That meant losing hundreds of dollars.

When we arrive and opened the door, we immediately saw dirt on the two rugs on the floor. That was the beginning of what we would find. It was filthy everywhere we looked. There was years of built up dirt and grime around kitchen cabinet handles as one example. We can deal with dust and cobwebs, but this was ridiculous. Every floor rug in the house should have been thrown away as they had drink and food stains and turning them over we exposed pet stains on several. The carpeted floors and steps had not been thoroughly vacuumed in who knows how long and maybe never professionally cleaned. The furniture had stains from spilled drinks and food crumbs.. Throw pillows had stains and hair and were unsanitary. Since there is no washer and dryer in the house, we wondered how long it had been since the blankets and throws had been cleaned as well. Not having it thoroughly clean and replacing old stained items like pillows, furniture, and rugs left us worried about what we might take home other than memories. We highly recommend you visit before you put up your money and not be disappointed and crushed as we were. This is our opinion and obviously differs from the owner.

Owner's Response: Dear Past and Future Guests, As a vrbo property owner, I have been very fortunate in the last eleven years. I have interacted with some of the most wonderful individuals and guests. I am so thankful for your patronage, and to a number of you, for your repeat patronage. So, that’s why this above letter from Bernie H., from Nipomo, is so troubling. Never have I received a review like this one. I've been a vrbo owner since 2003. I take pride in our property, and I have always had great ratings. This guest’s plans changed, and he wished to cancel after my cancellation deadline; I allowed him to do that. I went ahead and worked hard to re-rent the cabin and was very happy that I was able to re-rent almost all of his time at our cabin for him. What he failed to say above was that I reimbursed him every penny I received from the new renters! He was angry that I could not refund him money I didn't receive. That led to the writing of this false complaint. He sent me harassing emails containing obscenities and refused any offers of mine to make his stay comfortable. One of the photos to which he refers was one in which he actually had to use his car key to point to a speck of dust since it was barely visible to the naked eye. ☺ I have had my housekeeper for years; she does a fabulous job, and I have complete trust in her. I routinely have comforters and blankets professionally laundered as well as regular deep cleanings done, which include professional shampooing of furniture and carpets. If guests have any concern while they are at our cabin, I encourage them to contact me from the cabin, and I will do all I can to immediately make it right. You have my word on that. I appreciate guests’ comments, unlike this one, which help me be a better property owner for you! I urge you to read all my reviews, a number of them very current. I have excellent reviews on another popular vacation rental site as well. I welcome you to our family cabin. I do not believe you will be disappointed. Warmly, Marilyn

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this cottage as a four day getaway for my boyfriend as a surprise for his birthday. The owner is very sweet, and thankfully very accommodating. Thank you again for everything!!

He was very happy and we enjoyed ourselves so much, we plan on doing it again as often as we can. The cottage was clean and neat, the weather was perfect, and we have no complaints.

I highly recommend this cottage to anyone that is looking for a romantic getaway for a few days. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting...we went for a hike mid morning, and also hung out at the lake to feed the fish and ducks. They also have a golf course and stables around the area and the general store is only about a 3 minute drive away.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to booking with you again soon!

Excellent Getaway Location!

  • 5 of 5

Other reviews have mentioned how private the cabin is. They are right! What a great, quiet place to unwind. Plenty of movies and board games to keep you entertained. The kitchen is well stocked with most things you need to make a meal. It's an easy walk to the town center. We will be back!

Owner's Response: Hi, David, Thanks so much for your kind review. You were wonderful guests. In fact, my housekeeper just recently sent me this note about you: "The guests of this past weekend were wonderful! They left the cabin in great and clean condition:)." So, thank you! Hope to see you again-- Marilyn
