A real gem
We were a group of 6 guys celebrating a birthday, and we found this unit to be a real gem, and a pretty good value. Let me take you step by step through our experience...
We arrived around 8pm gave our bags to the bellman, and went to check in. It was slightly awkward as most of the other units that are either timeshares or direct rentals check in at the front-desk, whereas we needed to check-in with security. We just had to knock on securities' office, and after a bit of paperwork we had our keys and were on our way up to the penthouse!
Entering the unit we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the unit. Just as it was shown in the pictures. The furnishings were very nice. The couches and chairs were great, as was the dining and coffee tables. No oven, which we didn't need, but nicely furnished with cups, plates, flasks, etc. There were 2 bedrooms (and six total beds): 1 had a queen (nice) and the XL twin (nice), and the second had 2 queens (nice) and two (nice) couches which converted into just-OK beds. There is also a rollaway bed which worked better than the convertible couch. Plenty of bedding and pillows for all 6 guys.
Two bathrooms, both with showers, were adequate and we had no problems at all with them. We could've used extra towels (one per person per stay) but we can appreciate this isn't a hotel but a private rental so we dealt with it.
The view, as expected, was not great as the Cosmopolitan was erected immediately adjacent to the Jockey Club. So looking out of the main side of the unit you could see the top of the wall separating the two properties and above that, the tall wall of the Cosmo itself. Out of the back of the unit you could kind of see one of the Bellagio towers, but nothing to write home about.
What you trade for in lack of view you gain in location. Sandwiched in between the Cosmo and the Bellagio, you're right on the strip next to the best casinos. It really is a location you can walk anywhere on the strip from. If walking isn't your thing you can simply use the cab/limo stand at the Cosmo. This unit is on the backside of the Derby tower, meaning you don't have any strip noise, but you're still on the strip!
We didn't use the JC or Cosmo pool or amenities, but appreciated the fact that we could've. Dealing with Melissa (the penthouse manager) prior to arrival was quick and easy!
In closing, we got exactly what we expected: a great penthouse suite at a great location for a good price.

Owner's Response: Dear Adam,
Thank you so much for your review. You were a pleasure to work with and we hope to have you back in the near future. Thank you for painting a good picture of the suite for future guests as well, as I am sure they'll very much appreciate it.
All the best!
Melissa
