Comfortable Cottage on S Shore of Glen Lake

My husband, daughter and granddaughter stayed here for a week in July 2012. It was absolutely wonderful. The cottage is charming with nice views of the lake. The bedrooms were sunny with plenty of storage. Kitchen was adequate with all of the basics. We cooked most of our meals on the grill except for breakfast. The deck area was fantastic for viewing the lake. There was a picnic table on the deck which we used many times. The pier was long and new with steps down into the water at the end of the it. The water was perfect for our 3 year old granddaughter. A sandy beach to play or sunbathe. They had mooring for our motorboat. You had to walk out to the boat because the water is very shallow until you are well out into the water. This was not a problem at all! Beautiful turquoise water perfect for boating and swimming.
The owners summer right next door which was a surprise as we did not expect it. They were helpful but not intrusive. There is this thing called "swimmers itch" or "duck itch" which was also a surprise. DO get the cream to prevent it! You can get it at the local pharmacy. My husband and granddaughter got the itch and it was not pleasant for either of them. My daughter nor I got it.
All in all I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage on Glen Lake to family and friends, young or old. It is after all the most beautiful place in Michigan!!!!
Art's Bar and Restaurant in Glen Arbor is a great place to eat. There is a cute little book store in Glen Arbor along with other wonderful shopping. A terrific store just up the road (w/i walking distance) from the cottage for your basic food supply as well as ice cream & coffee!
