Welcome to Palm Cottage. This charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is just steps from Gulfport Beach and Gulfport's Art District. Beautifully landscaped yard with views to the beach from the yard, front porch and living area. Screened front porch with ceiling fan allows views of yard and surrounding area but with privacy. Hardwood floors, fireplace and comfortable, cushioned wicker furniture in living area. Both bedrooms have hardwood floors. Tile in bathroom and kitchen. Laundry room is accessible via a short walk to the back of the property. The property is decorated inside and out in beach themes. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots/pans/dishes and other cooking utensils so meals can be prepared if desired. The property is beautifully landscaped and well lit at night.

    Reservation Deposits & Final Payment:
    One week or less: $300: balance due 3 weeks prior
    Longer than one week up to one month: $500 balance due 3 weeks prior
    Longer than one month: $700 balance due 60 days prior

    The deposit may be paid via cash, cashier's check, money order, traveler's checks (US funds only) or VISA, Mastercard, American Express or Discover via PayPal. The reservation deposit is applied against the total due.

    Cancellations:
    Cancellations less than 60 days prior to arrival forfeit all monies paid.
    Cancellations received more than 60 days prior to arrival will result in a refund of the deposit, less a $100 handling fee. Reservations not paid in full prior to final payment due date will be cancelled. No refunds given for early departures.
  • Changes: There is a $50 charge for modification of a confirmed reservation.

    Utilities: Local phone service, water, cable and electricity are generally included in the rates.

    All rentals subject to a $85 + 12% tax departure cleaning fee.

    Check-in time: After 4 pm; Check-out by 10:30 am.

    Accommodations and right to switch: due to unexpected circumstances, if designated accommodations are not available, we reserve the right to assign guest to another unit.

    Pets: May be permitted with individual consideration and advance arrangements.

    Late Arrivals: Accommodated with Prior notification.

Amenities: Brand new Queen pillow-top mattress getting rave reviews. Perfect beach property - light, airy, with wood floors and south pacific interiors.

Activities: Gulfport is a very active community and there is always something going on, from the twice-monthly Art Walk several blocks away to other special events, including the Gheko Festival, annual nighttime Christmas Lighted Boat Parade and Retro-Rama. Bicycles can be rented at a nearby shop. Sunbathing, swimming, volleyball and playground equipment are all at the beach , along with a covered pavilion that can be reserved for private use. Gulfport has excellent restaurants, an exciting night life, a fishing pier, marina, nature park, excellent shopping including unique works by local and national artists and photographers, tennis and shuffleboard courts, a library, beach pavilions, a performing arts theater, a waterfront casino dance hall and above all, a white sand beach and playground equipment for children.

Location and local area Information: Gulfport is a cozy beachside community established in the early 1900's. It is located on Boca Ciega Bay with views of St. Pete Beach to the west and Isla del Sol to the south. Located 30 minutes from Tampa and Tampa International Airport, 10 minutes from downtown St. Petersburg, 30 minutes from Clearwater, 15 minutes from St. Pete Beach/Pass-a-Grille and 20 minutes from Ft. De Soto Park. We provide an excellent guest guide, complete with descriptions, web addresses, phone numbers, physical address and driving directions to the best places!

What a delightful surprise! The house and yard are lovely, and the location perhaps best of all. One block to beach, two blocks to great restaurants and parks. Lots of interesting bird life. Want to come back for longer stay. Bathroom is a bit tight, though.

We recently completed our second stay at Palm Cottage. The cottage is roomy, nicely decorated and comfortable. The beds are great for sleeping, the kitchen is well supplied with equipment and the patio and porch area are great for relaxing. The grounds are carefully kept and attractive. The owners/managers are helpful and friendly. The location is terrific. Everything you need is close by but you feel that you are in a quiet, cottagey area. You can see Boca Ciega Bay from the porch and great room area. It is a quick walk to the Rec Centre where they offer a variety of drop in classes, the Casino for ballroom dancing, Wood Ibis Park where there are lots of birds and a short walking trail, and the shops and restaurants along Gulfport's main street. The Library, Seniors' Centre, pharmacy and two churches are all walkable. It is a short drive to downtown St. Petersburg, Fort De Soto Park and St. Pete's or Passe A Grill Beaches. There's even a trolley that stops nearby and will take you to St. Pete's Beach. Palm Cottage is a great place to stay.

We stayed here for two months over Christmas and into 2009. Palm Cottage is in a great location with the beach just a few steps away! A comfortable property with everything that you could need for your vacation. We highly recommend it! There are also numerous restaurants nearby, and should you want a change of scene then St. Petes or De Soto Park are a short drive away, offering fine alternative beaches and more! - Ken and Elaine Mahoney (England)
