Created as a testament to an enduring love affair, The Buccaneer artfully melds Moorish Spain, Morocco, Crete, South Africa, Taos - and Jamaica - into one romantic, serene, spectacular, fantasy, beach villa, designed by Sally Henzell.
The setting is dramatic: on the hillside, above the fishers' beach in quiet Billy's Bay with 3/4s of a mile of untrammeled beach also reachable by gated pathways. Sweeping staircases, inside and out. Inspiring views. And always, the sound of the waves... Gaze out to sea from the oceanfront pool, terraces, and deep shaded portico. Up on the roof a spacious 'sun and moon lounge' invites sunbathing, dining, sunset and stargazing, or just curling up with a good book.
Opening onto the Oceanside terrace: a huge living room with scrolling hand-wrought ironwork doors, deep color-saturated walls that are inlaid with glass, plus comfy, inviting oversize furniture designed specifically for the house. Full music - VCR - TV systems, Phone.
Four artful, air conditioned bedrooms and four tiled bathrooms.
The kitchen is fitted out with all modern conveniences.

'Many thanks for our wonderful vacation at The Buccaneer. We loved every moment of it and the best part was your wonderful staff. Suzie was delightful and could not have taken better care of us and most important of all, our baby. Again, many thanks for helping make Treasure Beach our favorite vacation spot.' Sincerely,
Celia Boddington and Paul Bledsoe
'There are just no words to describe what a glorious, transforming trip this was for Parks and I. Our lives are forever changed. I cannot thank you enough for the best vacation we've ever had. We arrived as two stressed out, uptight complainers and turned into potential Jamaicans. To us, life in Jamaica is about beauty, tranquillity, happiness, love, patience, tolerance, health, living life, appreciation, and gratitude. Jamaica truly does capture your soul. P.S. We love Suzie, Garfield, Cebert and everyone!!!' Sincerely, Parks and Cathy Talley
'I do not have words that are worthy of delineating the priceless time we had at The Buccaneer. To be enveloped by the never-ending vistas of the glorious sea and the heavens, the soothing waters and sea breeze, sweet Suzie's scrumptious food (a labor of love) is to be blessed and healed. My favorite moments were those spent in solitary strolls on the deserted beach as well as my meditation and yoga at sunrise and sunset, on the roof. I have been fortunate to have traveled to some of the world's most spectacular places - but there was something so incredibly magical about our experience at The Buccaneer.' - May 2003 guests from New York City

Absolutely loved our stay at the Buccaneer Villa. Mary is wonderful and she made me feel so relaxed and at ease. We stayed with our 3 children, ages 8, 6 and almost 4 and they had a great time and so did we! The view from the Villa is spectacular. We spent a couple nights on the veranda upstairs star gazing. The property is great for exploring. We even saw a mongoose! The kids loved the pool and so did we for a quick dip in the afternoon as it was so refreshing. The beach is great for beach combing (we found many different interesting shells that we are proudly displaying on our mantle.) We rented a car for our trip and went on a few different day trips. One of our favorites was going on a boat out to Pelican Bar and on Black River. This was such a neat "once in a lifetime" experience, which Suzie arranged for us. We had a blast. Suzie recommended going to YS Falls one day and we are so glad we did as that was such a wonderful memorable day. I cannot say enough positive things about the Villa itself, but do have to mention that Suzie, Jamie, and Nikki are the real gems. We just adore them and hope to come back and visit again.
My wife and I recently got married in Montego Bay where we stayed for 4 days leading up to the wedding. After the wedding we spent our honeymoon at the Buccaneer villa for 7 nights. We loved the Buccaneer Villa and Treasure Beach for many reasons! We found that Treasure Beach had more sun than the Montego Bay side and the ocean was calmer which led to many afternoons spent on the beach. The private swimming pool was also a nice option that we tended to use every morning. Nikki, our cook, cooked amazing meals both in the morning and evening! We ate better in one week than we have in our entire life! The one day that Nikki did not cook for us, we walked through town about a mile and a half to a restaurant called Smurfs for breakfast. Everybody that we passed was friendly, smiled and would say hi. We never once felt unsafe during our stay in Treasure Beach. Our last night at the Buccaneer Villa, Bama, the grounds keeper, built us a bon fire on the beach which was a perfect ending to our stay. The thing that we enjoyed most about staying at the Buccaneer Villa was the relaxation. We felt completely separated from the rest of the world and were able to enjoy each other's company without and distraction. It was by far the most relaxing vacation that we have ever had and we already plan on going back with friends and family! Thank you Mary, Nikki, and Bama for a honeymoon that we will never forget!
great house! the view was great and the open upstairs deck was amazing for star gazing. The owner is very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay!
I am looking forward to returning; I cried when I had to leave. The staff is the most beautiful and kind people I have met and I have been to lots of different villas. The area is a safe and peaceful place; I have found one of my places that I can call home. The cook is excellent and the food fresh and delicious. I recommend it highly. Living inside and out at the same time has reminded me how important it is to my soul to connect with nature.
My children; 3, 6 & 9 had so much fun from the pool to the beach. They also enjoyed playing with the local children and the 6 & 9 year old had lots of freedom to roam with the other kids there in the village. I find that having my kids spend time in places so different from the US has opened their interest in different cultures, especially the older ones.
I have NEVER eaten food the way Suzie makes it. The place is beautiful and I came during a low season. Even though we had rain and there were a few more mosquitos than usual, it was the BEST holiday ever! Mary was the easiest person to deal with and totally undersold the place. She needs to raise her prices!
I will be returning again and again. I am already planning my next visit working out details with Mary now.
My wife and I stayed here for nine nights in the middle of October with out a car. We love Jamaica and have been to the island 20 plus times including getting married in Port Antonio 21 years ago. It was our anniversary trip. We LOVED IT. It is directly sea front on a small bluff over looking Billy's Bay. The views are amazing virtually from anywhere in the house but the fully covered porch facing the sea and running the length of the house is indeed special and includes lots of chairs and an eating area where we had most of our meals. Speaking of food Susie is a wonderful cook and can also arrange tours and outings for you. The pool is fairly large and has great ocean views. The upstairs master bedroom has a huge rooftop observation deck with fantastic views of the ocean and the mountains. It is wonderful for sunrises, sunsets and star gazing. The staff is truly a joy to deal with and will make you feel right at home. The areas is non-touristy and feels very comfortable and safe. You will be welcomed and treated like a friend. We have been all over the Island and stayed in some great places but my wife says it was the best time she has ever had and to prove that we have already rebooked the Buccaneer for two weeks in February. One love soon come.
