We chose this location because of the large, quiet, beautiful lake. We have visited many areas, but have always gravitated back to Leelanau county and this lake. The property has a peaceful setting, beautiful panoramic view, and the water is vast, clean, clear and great for all sports. We hope you find the surrounding communities as charming and welcoming as we do.
Both the sun-room and deck are equally inviting and provide a calming space to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Very well cared for property. This is our second stay three years apart. Both stays where the same in this nicely cared for cottage. We also rented the pontoon which looks nice and runs great. Being the first renters this year there were a couple of minor issues which the owners addressed right away. The owners are very nice and sincerely want their guest to experience a first class stay at their cottage. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone.
Everything about the cottage is exactly as we expected it to be. We chose this property based on number of bedrooms, bathrooms, amenities, location and of course, price. The cottage is nothing fancy and you could spend twice as much (or more) to stay at a more modern property, but if you're looking for a clean place to stay with all the amenities, this is all you need. We could pick apart the little things having to do with the cottage being a bit "dated", but why dwell on that? It certainly did not make or break our vacation and it suited us well for a place to stay, a place to make our meals, and a very relaxing setting for some great lake access and R&R. The property is well managed and again, CLEAN. Lake Leelanau is simply beautiful and we had excellent swimming conditions right out the back door. The owners were so accommodating and were ready to assist us with anything we asked for. We especially liked only have neighbors on one side of us which added a bit more privacy to the setting. There is a large yard that we took advantage of to play games and do a lot of grilling outside. We would definately stay again!
The property location on Lake Leelanau provides a great setting from which to experience the quintessential flavor of Leelanau County. The adjacent farm and open field are wonderful additional asset to experience. The property owners were very responsive to minor issues and provided everything needed to enjoy our stay. This was our second two week rental. Next year we hope to stay longer. I highly recommend this cottage for a great place to vacation.
We stayed the last week of July and the weather was georgeous!! The cottage was clean, sun room had nice breeze and the lake was beautiful. Our grandkids enjoyed the paddleboat and "cruising" on the pontoon. Fun little Tiki Hut bar/resturant at south end of lake, we could boat right up to it - HUGE burgers. We enjoyed having the air conditioner and WiFi. The kids enjoyed the fire pit, lawn toys and being able to jump in the lake any time they wanted. Cottage was spacious, had everything we needed.
We waited until after booking to write this review!! We have visited this property for the last 4 years, and it has worked very well for our family. We have a family of 4 and typically invite a set of grandparents to come stay with us. The cottage is advertised as clean, and it has always been VERY clean. We also rent the pontoon, which is a bargain compared to commercial rentals, and nice to have on a large lake. The yard is large and flat, which works well for my children to run around and play. The lake water is clean and clear and the lake bottom is hard, sandy with few rocks. We tend to spend most of our time in the sunroom, on the deck or in the water, but there are games and even a "playstation" available for the kids. The owners will provide extra "linen packs" if you request them (helpful if one set of grandparents leave and another come!!). The two full baths are a plus.
We had 6 people stay in the unit which was a little tight. The kitchen is adequate but could use some more silverware. The master bed and bath was adequate with good closet space. Pontoon rental was very expensive. The weather did not lend itself to taking the pontoon out and we used it only 2 times--conditions were windy. There were few games to occupy the children and the TV reception was poor.
