This 40 m2 (430 square feet) apartment is situated at the first French floor on a quiet courtyard. It is like a Studio-Loft that you can modulate as you want thanks to sliding doors an a rolling shutter. Very well lighted by a stained glass and three windows, friendly and airy space.
The apartment has a ideal location, in the historic and geographic center of Paris, rue Gît le Coeur, beetween the Seine Quays, Saint Germains des Près and the Latin Quarter. The access is easy and secured by a digital code door. The little building is well kept in a family atmosphere.
Cleaning is made after and before each stay and it is included in the price.
Completly renovated, it will offer you a fully equiped open plan kitchen-dinning room, an italian shower and modern washbassin, separated toilets, and all the confort you expect. From here, you can easily visit Paris and the most prestigious places by foot. If you are in Paris for work or business, you can get all transport means in Place Saint-Michel: Métro-RER-Bus-Taxis. You return in calm in the apartment which is absolutly quiet .
I am now living in south France , near Carcassonne .
Marie-Ange purchased this apartment in 1987
I was living in Paris and had a 'coup de coeur' for this apartment , and never regret ...
Living most of the year in nature , near a little town , it is an enjoyment for me to go in center Paris and see all the gallerys, shops, muséums and city life !
Bonjour Madame Marie Ange de Sonis,
We had a wonderful time in Paris and thoroughly enjoyed your apartment. It was a great location, and I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. I may be in Paris next summer for the Paris Air Show, and if I do, I will certainly contact you early for another rental period.
Great little apartment really in the center of everything. Easy access to metro, close parking garage, close to good grocery, fruit stands, and other very good stores, including great used book stores and a game store. My grandsons and I rented it for two weeks and really felt like we were living in Paris.
This was a perfect spot to explore Paris from.. As a single woman traveling alone, I always felt safe and comfortable Its so close to St Michel that there was always something to do. The apartment faces an inner courtyard, providing a calm place to recharge between adventures. I will be back
We spent a week in this lovely apartment and cannot wait to return! We walked all over Paris from here. Our investigations into which Metro or bus pass were a waste of time as we didn't need public transportation. The apartment had everything we needed: clean, fully equipped, central location, reasonable price.
We were initially surprised by the size of the apartment as we expected something larger. French apartments tend to be small and very efficiently laid out as they are retrofits into older buildings. Of course, that is part of their charm. After arriving we checked the photos and they are accurate.
Emilie did a great job of meeting us (and arranging for an early entry due to our morning flight from the states) and thoroughly explained how the appliances and heater worked. She also explained nearby grocery and bakery options. You will be given her phone number to call should anything come up during your stay.
Some pros: abundant hot water due to the flash water heater, plus the walk-in tiled shower. What a pleasure after a long day of sightseeing. Comfortable bed--it is typical European mattress on a slat frame so is firm. Kitchen equipped for light meals (or possibly more but we ate out except for breakfast and snacks. Don't miss the Candy Trio: combination range, oven and dishwasher! Despite being in a popular area (Saint Michel) the apartment is quiet. The apartment building has a locked entry so it is very secure. Don't overlook the location: Go out of the building turn right and you just about fall into the Seine!
A few things to be aware of: It is on the second floor (American) with spiral stairs. Some of the steps are wood others stone. The stairs can be dark (midway through our stay the light bulbs were replaced and now there is much more light). But the stairs are of varying sizes so it might be tricky if you have balance issues or are carrying suitcases. For most people this would not be a problem just something to be aware of and a concern if you have mobility issues.
The apartment technically sleeps 4 but would work best for a couple. The bathroom is really en-suite with the the bedroom and therefore has no access for those sleeping on the futon if you have used the sliding doors to enclose the main bedroom. So there could be privacy issues. It would work for 2 kids on the futon.
Overall this was a stellar place for our visit. Obviously other have found out about it as you need to book far in advance . . . but it is worth it.
Our stay in Paris was perfect, the apartment was cute and everything worked properly!!! The location is the best and for a family of 4 people is ideal!!! The owner was in contact with us all the time to know how things were doing!!! Everything was perfect!!!
We found the apartment to be right in the centre of Paris - like being on 42nd St, New York or in Double Bay, Sydney. RER to airport and Metro to any destination in Paris not far from your doorstep. Cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and chic shopping all within easy walk. Apartment is roomy and modern with all conveniences, always someone there to meet and greet. The owner is extremely helpful and one of the nicest people we have dealt with, honest and reliable. We would definitely recommend this apartment for two persons though we would prefer to keep it a secret!
My husband and I just got back last week from an amazing trip to Paris! We spent 11 nights in Marie-Ange's Very Center Paris apartment so believe me when I tell you that this apartment is in the most perfect location!! The RER B line from Charles DeGaulle airport is just right down the street, St. Michel stop. We were able to take that to and from the airport without a problem. Even with our 2 huge suitcases! The Metro line 4 is also right there so traveling anywhere in Paris is a breeze. But you can walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Chappelle, and Cluny Museum(The Lady and the Unicorn Tapestries are a must see!!) in 5-10 minutes. You could even walk to the Louvre if you wanted to. Its not too far and a fun walk along the Seine with all the booksellers and artists. There are lots of restaurants, souvenir, and other shops nearby as well as grocery stores, a pharmacy and really anything you need in walking distance. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described, and pictured. We really enjoyed the large shower with excellent water pressure and towel rack. We never had a problem with the water heater. The place where the toilet was is pretty tiny but like another reviewer said, "Hey, you're in Paris". The bed was a king (2 mattresses put together) and very comfortable. There was a really nice hair dryer. And as a bonus surprise, a really nice flat iron!! The clothes washer/dryer combo was really thorough! We found that we needed to use the speed setting and start it in the morning, not while we were trying to sleep! There is also an iron and ironing board. The kitchen is small but has everything you need, including a little dishwasher. Marie-Ange was available for us when we needed to call her. And she always responded very quickly to our emails. Our deposit was returned very quickly as well. All in all I would recommend this apartment again and again. The price is right, the location really is perfect, the bed is comfortable, and the necessities are all there!
