Rennie Lake

  • 5 of 5
Friends and I visited this lovely cabin over Memorial Day weekend for the Bayshore Marathon. Everything we needed was there when we arrived, including fixins' for s'mores. The fire pit on the beach and use of the lake was just what we needed to relax after the race. It was the perfect getaway, yet close to town for trips to the store or to meander around Traverse City. It was a much better value than getting a hotel in town and Sheila and CB were very accommodating during the entire experience. We are already discussing our next trip.

Great Weekend was had by all!

  • 5 of 5
We came to Traverse City for a weekend color tour, winery and microbrew discovery tour. We started our weekend here at this cute cottage. It was extremely clean and well stocked. The fresh flowers and welcoming gift of local beers were a nice touch! This was going to be a great weekend...we could tell!

We had 6 adults and the accomodations were just right. Beds were comfortable and the living space was just right for us to hang out together after a long day. The location from downtown was close enough to be fun, yet far away enough to be away from the bustle after our busy days.

We had plenty of hot water for all 6 of us and the furnace kept us all cozy! The kitchen even had a Calphalon wok! We stir fried Spicy Orange Beef for our Saturday night dinner...it was delicious! Couldn't have done that at a Holiday Inn!

We had great communication from the owners before our arrival and afterwards! This was extremely important as we wouldn't have felt as comfortable. Thank you for that!

We toured 4 Micro Breweries and 3 Wineries. We drove up to the Penninsula Light house and ate along the way. We stopped at fruit stands for local apple cider. It was a busy Winery weekend so we couldn't do "it all" in the time we had. We would have loved to stay longer!

Sunday we took a hike on the VASA Bike tours very close to the cottage. It was a great walk through nature and nice to have so close. Parking is easy and you can hike or bike.

So if your considering this cottage on Rennie Lake, stop thinking and just do it! It will be a great stay here and help make the trip all worth while! The pictures don't hide anything... It's definately a hidden gem in all of the website reservation hoopla!
