The Owner purchased this condo in 2006
We purchased our condo at The Village because it reminded us of our home in Colorado! We fell in love with Mammoth immediately...the beautiful mountain scenery and lakes, hiking trails, horseback riding, biking and on and on............enjoy!!!
My husband, 9 y.o. son, and I stayed in this very nice condo for 4 nights while skiing at Mammoth. We didn't get in our car after parking it in the underground parking lot until it was time to leave. It's a short walk to the gondola that takes you to Canyon Lodge (where you can get lift tix, lockers, ski lessons, rentals, food, etc.) If you leave your skis and boots in one of the lockers at Canyon Lodge, you can take the gondola at the end of the day and not have to carry equipment back and forth. (I think it's $5/day for a key to the larger lockers, and you can open/lock them as often as you want. They have an option to pay each time you lock it.)
I was able to text and email Teresa and she responded very promptly. She is totally on top of things, and went out of her way to be helpful.
The condo is very comfortable, has a gas fireplace in the living room which was really nice, and is clean and well taken care of. The kitchen was well-stocked, there is a dishwasher with soap provided, and it was clean and in good condition. There were more towels provided than we could have possibly needed in the bathrooms, and the tub I used was very deep and very comfortable. Much appreciated after a long day of skiing.
I prefer being in the Village where you have Starbucks, several very good restaurants, and shops in easy walking distance than a ski-in/ski-out condo (which I was originally looking for). The gondola makes it super easy to get to the mountain.
I also recommend Black Tie rentals. I tried them for the first time and was very impressed. I made reservations on the phone, and had a ton of questions. They were very knowledgeable and patient. Two polite and helpful Black Tie employees came up to our room (on time) with our equipment and had options for each of us based on what kind of skier we are, etc. After we were finished skiing on the last day, they picked up the equipment at the front desk. (Even though the condo isn't rented out by the staff at the front desk, the bell staff were happy to help us. It was well worth the tip for the staff member who handled this.)
I would absolutely recommend this condo to friends and family, and I plan to come back next time we ski Mammoth. My 9 y.o. son enjoyed watching some of the DVD's that were available, and loved walking around the Village. Definitely family friendly!
The location is great, and what I liked most was the people.
The owners are reliable and honest, and easy to deal with.
The Village Hotel people are also very friendly.
Its a typical condo from the genre of when it was built around 10 years ago. Furnishing tastes are personal but this is quite straightforward and what you would expect.
We go to Mammoth for the outside surrounds, and like to come home to a great shower/ bath, comfy bed, and functional and complete kitchen. This condo has all that., and unlike many apartments in the Village, this is quiet!
Thanks for having us dear owner.
Stayed four nights during our annual trip to the Sierras. This is an exceelnet place to stay in Mammoth. The Village is centrally located and is very kid freindly. Enjoyed the outdoor movie during the evening after dinner. No need to use your car either as the shuttle stops right at he Village. And the newly installed BBQs in the pool area was a real convenient way to save money and have a home cooked meal.
This unit overlooks the main entry way to the Grand Sierra Lodge. I have heard complaints about the noise from the restaurants below, but this was no issue for us as this unit is on the quiet side. This alos allows for use of the balcony for a great place to relax and have coffee in the morning.
This unit is clean, well furnsihed, and maintained well. With the third bathroom, a hide-a-bed sofa, and roll away mattress, it sleeps like a three bedroom. The quality of the utensils and plates were excellent as well. I really like the fact that you have a code to enter the unit, which allows for immediate access without having to check in at the front desk or go to another location to get a key.
Overall an exceelent stay and we will definitely be back!
This was our first time staying at the village and it was a great experience for m e and my family. The condo is a great size for a family of 4 and has everything that you could need.
We look very forward to staying here again in the near future.
Had a fantastic time staying in this 2 bedroom/3 bathroom condo in The Village this past weekend. This is our favorite 2 bedroom floorplan at The Village - we loved having the 3rd bathroom. It was also great that there is a single roll away bed in the unit as well. Using the keypad to enter the condo was very convienent for us, we had never stayed in any units in The Village before that had this (and we've stayed in a lot of units there over the years). The check in and check out process was super simple and much better than having to drive to another location in town to pick up the keys before going to the condo. The snow conditions were great for skiing especially for this early in the season, the whole mountain was open so, we were able to walk to the (very close by) Village Gondola to get to Canyon Lodge. We were also able to check out the newest restaurant in The Village - Campo - it just opened the night before we were there. Teresa was very easy to work with through the booking process and getting the door code and WiFi info for the condo, we will be back!!
We had a great time. It was early May and we skied three days and spent the rest of the time hiking. The slopes were an easy 5-10 minute drive from the condo and it was convenient to everything we did. The skiing was good for really warm conditions, the hiking was great and scenery was wonderful. It was the first time we had visited this area and we plan to return.
The condo was very nice and even though the weather was still in the 60's, we really enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as the balcony in the afternoons since we got sun at that time of day. The condo was roomy, the bathrooms were very large, and all of the appointments were top notch.
Our only complaint was that the kitchen needed a better selection of cookware (handles missing, saute pan with finish coming off). We always rent condos when traveling so we can prepare our own meals and generally if the condo is really nice then the cookware will be more than adequate. I cannot say that in this instance, but that could be easily rectified. Other than the pots and pans, the other kitchen utensils, plates, etc were fine.
We would consider coming back again as we very much enjoyed the condo, location, and amenities.
