CLASSIC MEDITERRANEAN HOME IDYLLICALLY SET IN TROPICAL GARDEN

Port Charlotte Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Office, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-7)

Embrace a romantic stay in the heart and soul of old Florida...Arcadia. Come into one of the original old Mediterranean style Spanish homes built c1925. Enter the home through a large screened and covered tropical front porch, which also serves as a seasonal dining and entertaining space. The warmth of the heart pine flooring welcomes you into the formal living room, with its high ceilings, fireplace, and antiques from around the world. On your left is a library/study. Continuing on one passes beneath a handsome archway leading into a formal dining room. Both bedrooms are on your left. One contains a queen size bed, the other a king sized canopy 4-poster with antique mirrored headboard. The first bathroom off the master contains a jacuzzi. Leaving the dining room we pass beneath a second arch entering the kitchen adorned by a hand painted tile mural, extensive tiling, and antique architectural components. Off the kitchen is a breakfast room with a large screen HDTV. The room is embellished with Spanish tiles and original paintings. Leaving the rear of house one passes through a breezeway and enters s studio apartment with sky lighted bath, and views of the gardens and massive live oaks.

The hedgerow enclosed landscaped property gives one a wonderful sense of privacy and peacefulness. The gardens offering a charming pastoral tranquility for a Sunday morning read and coffee in a large veranda set beneath live oaks and queen palms. Meandering the numerous peastone footpaths you will come upon an art galley, two small pools, fountains, an outdoor shower enclosure area, and a small studio. Grandkids of all ages often exclaim...' You could get really lost in this jungle...' To us, that is a most satisfying exclamation. For although we are only several blocks from the historic antique center of Arcadia, we offer two acres of butterfly serenity.

If golfing is your passion the nearest 18 hole course is less than five minutes away. If you prefer kayaking or fishing or shark tooth hunting the Peace River is also 5 minutes away. Sharks teeth found in river have been touted on national TV and fetch good money. There are numerous nature trails along the river. Desiring a day at the beach? There is none more pristine than Boca Grande with its turquoise waters and wide sandy beaches, which are never crowded and are about 50 minutes away.

Finally, for the moment, there is Sarasota 45 minutes off. A Mecca of things to do and places to dine. With many theatre presentations, art galleries, opera house, film festival and museums. Visiting the Ringling Manson and Circus museum is a delightful day trip for all to enjoy. Minimum stay 3 months. no children. must be 45 or older. thankyou.

GREAT TOWN, GREAT PEOPLE. ANNA IS AN ARTIST - THE HOME / PROPERTY SHOW LIKE AN ART GALLERY / MUSEUM

We stayed here for 3 winter months, and is a property not to be believed. Even the residents of Arcadia were stunned with the endless walkways, gardens, privacy, and style. The older home can be a bit cool in early January, but there is lots of heat, so don't worry. I truly enjoyed the gardening I was allowed and the grapefruit trees, orange trees, lemon trees and more were all full of fruit for eating and drinks. Golf is very inexpensive, only 10 minutes from the house, lots of shopping, and the coast only a 40 minute drive. Wish I could go back this year, work doesn't allow, but I'll be back in Arcadia for sure.
The layout of the home is unique as well. Nice sized bedrooms, great beds, modern bathroom, and all the toys you need in the kitchen. The TV room is cozy, the office neat, and the front porch another room to itself. My son had the back cabin to him self and with over an acre to roam everyone had lots of space.
It was actually pretty hard to leave the home as clean as we found it. These are very discerning owners and should you be fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a winter in this home, it'll be an experience like no other, one for the memory, and a privilege only a few will ever have.
