The Vista at Shipwatch (2475 Shipwatch) is truly a one-of-a-kind - a special place that is perfect for your romantic escape. You won’t believe the incredible sweeping ocean views…
The beach is just a short elevator ride away and is also conveniently located to several restaurants, shops, golf and 30 minutes from historic downtown Charleston.
The Living Room is the essence of comfort with its lighted display cabinets, designer furniture and artwork, 50" Samsung TV, soundbar, Bluray player, fully stocked library (DVD and books) and wireless internet access. But the star attractions are the two swivel rockers placed in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. From here you can see down the beach all the way to the east end of Kiawah. With the lush dunes, the wide sand beach, the shimmering Atlantic Ocean and the soft blue sky filling your view, it’s a vista so calming, you’ll be in a relaxed “vacation mode” from the moment you sit down.
The Kitchen has everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal - even if the most cooking you plan to do on your vacation is opening a bottle of wine. Special features include granite countertops, Tuscan tile floors, a farm sink and an oversized eat-at bar which faces the incredible view.
The Bedroom can only be described as absolutely sumptuous! With its rich warm colors, antique reproduction Tuscan bed and cloud-like bedding, leaving the bed each morning may be one of the most difficult things you’ll have to do all vacation. Go ahead and linger; pull back the heavy drapes and watch the sunrise over the shore. From the comfort of your bed you can see the same incredible views as from the Living Room. Step out onto your private balcony and enjoy your morning coffee while watching the beach come to life for yet another spectacular day. This is the place to sit and watch pelicans and seagulls as they fly toward you then swoop up in the air currents. The king bed is complete with memory foam topper, Egyptian-cotton sheets, down-alternative pillows and down-alternative duvet. Bedroom also features a 50" Samsung TV with soundbar and bluray player.
The Bathroom boasts a wide vanity topped with granite and offering 2 sinks and deep drawers for storage. The Tuscan-tiled tub enclosure shows off its beauty through clear glass doors. An original oil painting and individual framed mirrors adorn the walls. You can even see the incredible ocean view in the mirror’s reflection.
Master Bedroom: Deluxe King-Size Bed
The property accommodates up to 2 adults. No smoking, pets or children are permitted.

About Property Managers, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):
Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.
In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).
In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.
In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.
Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
The Vista is a romantic escape, offering sweeping oceanviews throughout the villa, a king-size dream bed, original artwork and unforgettable sunrises. Stay here once and the Vista will become your favorite Kiawah destination spot.
We stayed in your Vista villa the week of July 5th-12th, and had a wonderful vacation. Kiawah is definitely somewhere we would return to, and your villa surpassed our expactions. My husband couldn't get over how well stocked the villa was, anything you need was right there. Your attention to detail is impressive. The supplies, the decor, the views, the location everything was top notch. Literally the only problem the entire week was the fire alarm for shipwatch going off for hours late into Friday night. Hopefully that was a glitch that they were able to fix.
Thanks for providing such a fabulous spot for vacation.
This is our 3rd stay at the Vista my wife and I stay for a week every year. It is always just as beautiful every time we stay.
The Vista to us really feels like home very comfortable and inviting. We really love the ocean view and the beach. The stars that come out at night, the sunrises and sunsets are awesome. We really enjoy those as well as it too is all part of the experience. We really recommend for a couples getaway.
My husband and I enjoyed a 3-night stay at The Vista booked through Kiawah Island Getaways. The condo really does have "sweeping ocean views," and is quite comfortable and romantic for a couple. Would be a great honeymoon spot, not that we were on one ... we're an OLD married couple! GIGANTIC, COMFORTABLE bed and HUGE television sets in the living room and bedroom. If your eyes are open, you're at the beach! beautiful views from the picture window in the living room, the sliding doors in the bedroom, and from the small deck. Ride the elevator down to the boardwalk to the wide, private beach. Fine dining opportunities abound at Kiawah - we tried Hegge's and The Atlantic
Room this year. Oh yeah, this wasn't our first trip to Kiawah; we've been many times. Even though we own a condominium at Pawleys Island (Another great SC vacation spot!), we can't stay away from Kiawah.
We loved our stay at this villa. We are frequent visitors to Kiawah & have rented a diversity of properties. This villa was perfect for us & our contact person from Kiawah Island Getaways could not have been more helpful. The pictures do not do the villa justice. We highly recommend this villa for 2 people & would definitely return.
My husband and I loved the villa! It is beautifully appointed with lovely decor. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The ocean view from both rooms is stunning! I was impressed with the selection of books available. The binder supplied important information about restaurants and sightseeing opportunities. This was an easy choice!
Shawn also called me, prior to choosing the villa, to go over all of my concerns. Hearing him talk made me confident about selecting Shipwatch Villa. I am so glad we chose this one (4th floor) over an available unit on the 1st floor.
We arrived on the Feb 9th and the Villa was everything and more than we expected. The view is awsome. We had a small problem with the tv. Shawn and Jeanette were right there to fix the problem. We love it there and will return.
The Vista was outstanding and provided a quiet serene atmosphere, which was what we wanted. It was clean & beautifully decorated. The pictures accurately reflect the elegance that was there as well as the beautiful ocean views. Attention to detail was noticed. We appreciated the extras that were available including soft music upon entry, the Christmas tree, the 3-ring binder with restaurant & area sightseeing information and the many books & DVDs. We will definitely come back to visit and also recommend Kiawah Island Getaways to family & friends. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
