This home was built in 1983 and was one of the very few homes that sustained no damage from Hurricane Hugo in 1989 even though we are only 2 blocks to the ocean. We have been through a lot together so we thought it was time for a total update. In 2003 we started by gutting the house completely. We moved walls and plumbing to make a large master bath, all marble with a large Jacuzzi tub & a large marble walk-in shower. We started over in the second bath too. It also is marble with double sinks, granite countertops & a large marble shower with bench. The kitchen also is totally new with granite countertops & all new black appliances. We finished it off with all new trim, paint & wallpaper as well as new carpeting & all new furniture earlier this year

Location, Location, Location! The location of this home is perfect. Just 4 blocks to the bridge to Mt. Pleasant, 2 blocks to the beach, 3 blocks to ocean front shopping & restaurants. Mt. Pleasant 'Towne Center' is just 5 mins away & is a large upscale shopping area complete w/movie theater, restaurants & more shops than you can imagine. It is a very unique 'new/old' shopping area. It is reminiscent of 'old' downtown areas laid out in 'squares'. Mt. Pleasant Shem Creek area, 10 mins away, has fine restaurants overlooking the shrimp boats on scenic Shem Creek. Historic Charleston is only 20 mins away. What can I say about Charleston? It is the reason we moved here 18 years ago. It never loses its charm. We still are in awe every time we go downtown.

So many places to see..things to do... : I will try to tell you just a few things about the Charleston area. The restored historic homes and shops, the private gardens, Rainbow Row, the 'Battery' along the harbor, farmers market on Saturday mornings during the season, Waterfront Park, the many small shops and boutiques, the 'best' antique shops, the art galleries are phenomenal, Charleston Symphony is awesome, many numerous theater companies as well as two ballet companies, harbor dinner cruises, the Aquarium, and the Gibbs Art Museum just to mention a few things to see and do. Also in the area are several historic plantations, Drayton Hall, Boone Hall, Middleton Place, and Magnolia Gardens. For the Revolutionary, Civil, WWII War buffs, there is Fort Sumter in Charleston harbor, Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island, and Patriots Point with the Yorktown aircraft carrier and other war ships. I guess you can tell how much I really love Charleston and the entire area. It is truly one of a kind.

Let me tell you a little more about our home : All the furnishings are new. There are ceiling fans in the great room and all the bedrooms. The great room is divided into two areas; a dining room that seats 8 with a wet bar, a living room with a real fireplace, lots of seating, vaulted ceiling, satellite TV and DVD player. The master bedroom has a king bed, satellite TV and DVD player, phone, a large marble master bath with double sinks, large Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower and walk-in closet. There is also a deck off the master bedroom. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed, satellite TV and DVD player, phone and a deck. Bedroom 3 has 2 double beds, satellite TV and DVD player, and phone. The kitchen has granite countertops and a tile floor. It also has all new appliances including dishwasher, stove, microwave, refrigerator with ice and water in the door, as well as other small appliances. There is also a new washer and dryer.

The house is on pilings and under the house is a large 2 head outdoor shower for you return from the beach to get off all that sand as well as a place to change from wet clothes. There is also parking under the house as well. You will enjoy the large, tiled, screened porch with a ceiling fan and tables for dining al fresco. All linens are provided.

This house is fantastic and in a great location. With easy beach access and easy Charleston access, this is perfect for the first-timer to the area as well as the experienced visitor.

House was laid out well, meticulous and very comfortable. Giant master bathroom, big couches and dining room table for gathering the family. Any type of visitor could have a great time with this house.

I don't think you could work with a better owner! She's there at every turn with any type of information that you could need. As first-timers to the area, she was an invaluable resource.

Phenomenal Digs, Great Experience!

This letter is far to long in waiting!!! I spent the most marvelous birthday ever at Thia's place w/5 friends from all over! The house was beautiful, clean and extremely efficient for 6 people... AND ONLY a 1-2 min walk to the BEST part of the beach (we had the best slab of sand in the most quiet and pristine part of the beach). Easy access to connector to Mt Pleasant/Charleston and just a few mins drive to Shem Creek. Our favorite breakfast place Sea Biscuit was just around the corner - best breakfast anywhere, a great waitress you won't forget, and delicious specials. The Windjammer is in short walking distance as well - nice bartenders, volleyball, good drinks, music. The house was fully equipped to handle eating in (two grills, loads of dishes, utensils, huge table, lots of counter space, big fridge). Everyone had their own space, w/ceiling fan and TV! The shower below to rinse off the sand was sensational especially on hot days! Thia is a great host w/phenomenal suggestions that helped make our stay that much better. I highly recommend this place to anyone and will surely be back!

The house was great!
We loved the location it was handy to Charleston and we where able to walk to different location on IOP and to the beach
The owner was wonderful to work it she was so helpful in planning our visit to Charleston
