Two long time friends wanting to get away to somewhere with a lovely beach, comfortable accommodation & a fun township to visit, spend $$, eat, drink & be merry! And that's just what my birthday weekend turned out to be. Found La Casita easily with the directions from the owners. Booking La Casita was efficiently accomplished on line & we found the home to be just as it was portrayed on line. Comfortable, clean & everything in it we needed. The beach (within 100 feet of La Casita) was amazing! Whether the tide was in or out. September swimming was warm & relaxing, the water crystal clear! Long walks on the beach morning & sunset was great, gathered heaps of shells. Our trip into town--10 minute drive--was fun. Found great stuff to take home & presents for everyone--did the bargaining thing. The local folk were polite & really not too aggresive about buying from 'their' store. Ate a ton of the famous large shrimp--at restaurants (the Lighthouse Resaturant, on top of the hill, overlooking the township of Rocky Point) & bought several pounds to take home to Phoenix. Overall a wonderful weekend, very memorable & so wonderful I am back there again just before Christmas. Would recommend this tidy home to anyone who enjoys the sun, sea & sand!
I have visited La Casita Bonita Del Mar several times and have greatly enjoyed my stays each time. It is in a gated community that is safe and peaceful. It is well stocked with needed amenities. I've enjoyed the beach at all times during the day adding to the relaxation of my visits. The conversational pit, in front of the fireplace is a wonderful place to relax with a hot cup of coffee in the mornings or a glass of wine in the evenings. I love the walk-in showers. The sunrises added to my long morning walks on the beach. Bird watching is wonderful. I will certainly be returning to this Mecca.
I stayed here with my wife and her mom and boyfriend for the week of Thanksgiving. You couldn't ask for a better place and a better location. The ocean is a stones throw from the house. The house is very clean with all the amenities you need. For me water pressure and water temperature are huge and had the best shower I have ever used in Mexico. We used the Kitchen for the majority of our meals and I enjoyed drinking coffee in the seating area in front of the fireplace. I will most certainly be back to stay in this house.
We stayed at this charming property for my 40th birthday and were so pleased with the amenities, beach, and friendliness of owner we went back for a last minute trip. Cynthia made it so easy to make the last minute plans, and I was so appreciative of her up to date calender with the bookings. The home once again met all of our expectations: spotlessly clean, private, and the ocean 50 yards so close we could hear the waves crashing . The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking and eating utensils and the covered patio was quite large, providing a lovely place to view the beach below while allowing us to BBQ. We especially appreciated that the property owner allowed us to bring our pet dogs. It was a blast taking them into the ocean to swim! Definitely, we'll be once again returning to this property in the future. Thank you Cynthia for the use of your home which allowed us to create many wonderful memories.
Everything you need and only a short walk across street from ocean. We stayed for my birthday weekend in March and were very pleased. Brought our teenagers and dogs. Plenty of room for all, will rent again.
My husband and I stayed in this beach home for a weekend sometime in June or July 2014. It was expensive because of the three-day minimum, although we needed it for only two days. I don't agree with the reviewer below who said the towels were dirty--they were fine. However, the walls were dirty, there were spots and stains on upholstery, dust and dust+grease on kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and just generally poor cleaning and lack of detail. Worst of all were the cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets. I left food in a paper bag in a cabinet and there was a cockroach in the bag the next morning. I saw other roaches in the cabinet and sink. Not swarming, but several of them. The linen area in the back shed had dead roaches here and there, and clean linen in open plastic bags. I wrote to the manager while we were there and she did not offer to have her cleaning crew come bring things up to a decent standard.
On the positive side, the beds were clean and comfortable and the house has a nice layout for two couples or a family with children, as the bedrooms are large and on the opposite sides of the small kitchen/dining/living area. The bathrooms were also large. The air conditioning worked very well. I think the bad air conditioner a previous reviewer mentioned has been replaced, as there is an old a/c in the backyard and a new "installation" of one in the right side bedroom.
The location from the beach is nice--just cross the dirt road, walk between two houses, and the beach is right there. Be sure to look carefully in the small tide pools.
