Cozy Cabin with Great Mauka(mountain) Views nestled in a beautiful Ohia Forest. Our Cabin is a wonderful retreat to get away from the demanding world!!!

This 1bdrm, 1ba cozy cabin has a new kitchen for creating any tropical delight and a BBQ on the lanai with beautiful ocean views. It's a book lover & bird watcher's paradise, located halfway between Kona & Hilo. There is the Green Sand Beach (yep,the sand is really green) & Punalu'u Black Sand Beach within 30 minutes. Also, Ho'okena Beach, which is wonderful for snorkeling and playing with the dolphins is only 26 miles away.

Our Cozy Mauka View Cabin is quiet, peaceful, no stress, great views, more south than Florida, and Winter Snow Birds will love it!!! It's cool at night and warm during the day. There are wide open places to explore; you can backpack to isolated beaches, go see volcanic sights and hiking.

This island is still undiscovered by the masses, and our Mauka View Cabin is not your tour boat vacation. This cozy cabin is a great way to get away from it all and still be close to everything!!!

About Joe and Suzanne

Joe is a contractor and Suzanne is an artist. They love to rehabilitate properties, and have enjoyed their times in Hawaii rehabing this one. Each time they go they do some upgrading. So be sure and come back to see the latest. Suzanne's art work decorates the walls and can be purchased by contacting her at the email in this website. The prices range from $120 to $180.

Why Joe and Suzanne chose Ocean View

We love spending time there, thawing out when the Oregon cold gets to us. It's quiet, and peaceful, warm. We love the raw, rugged beauty of the Big Island. Joe says, having spent 30 years exploring it, I have a deep attachment to the land.

What makes this cabin unique

Hiking, exploring, snorkeling, being off the beaten path, no crowds. Small personal communities, with aloha spirit. Slow lazy days. Local cooking that the grandma's taught. Farmer's markets. Local catch of the day sold from the road side. Wild fruit growing every.

Nice relaxing spot for the south end of the island. Cool, clean & comfortable. Took in Makuna Bay-quite the road in. Also Black Sand Beach , Green Sand Beach, South Point & Volcano Park. Very enjoyable.

We have had a wonderful visit! We really enjoyed how 'off the grid' this spot is - not your typical 'just done for tourists spot!' The farmers Market at Naalehu (Weds & Sat) was great to pick up local coffee, baked goods, gifts & fruits. There's alot to do! The volcano was beautiful with lots of birdwatching nearby! Today we are off to the green sand & black sand beaches. Thanks for a great space in a great location!
