The Moselle valley is a unique combination of wine, culture and landscape. This harmony has dominated the life of the people here for more than 2000 years. Piesport is world-famous for its wines. They can be tasted at the family - owned estate. Our guesthouse offers all the comfort necessary for a pleasant holiday, on 120 sq. m. It was renovated in 2002 and classified with 4 stars. On the ground floor there are a large living-room and dining-room, a modern kitchen (with dishwasher) and a toilet. Outside there is a terrace with garden furniture, flower garden and herbs. On the first floor there are a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room and a bathroom. All the rooms have been stylishly furnished.

Piesport (2200 inhabitants) is world-famous for its wines. Experts say the 'Piesporter Goldtröpfchen' is one of the best Riesling wines in the world. Already the Romans knew this about 2000 years ago when they settled here and started to grow wine. Today you can visit a Roman Press in Piesport and each year in October there's a big fest where this press operates again and the grapes are pressed in the Roman way. The Romans were followed by the powerful monasteries in the Middle ages. Their old estates still dominate the village. Our family has been growing wine here since 1337, and the estate is one of the best in Germany (Weingut Johann Haart). In the village there are shopping facilities, cafes, restaurants and sports facilities (cycling, walking, water ski, etc.).

Additional information about rental rates

  • The price (60 €) for our house refers to 2 adults. For each further person you are charged 10 € per day. Children under 15 pay 5 € per day. Included in this cost are: bedclothes, linen, towels, energy, water, heating and final cleaning. For a stay of less than 7 nights you are charged 35 € for the final cleaning. The house is available on the day of your arrival at 4 pm and you are asked to leave on the day of your departure by 10 am. If you should have to cancel your booking you must pay cancellation fee of 10 %, 40 % or 80 %, depending on the weeks before your booking date. With your booking you'll receive a written confirmation. You are kindly requested not to smoke in the house.

Highlights in the area: Our house is an ideal point for destinations in the area like the volcanoes with crater lakes in the Eifel ( 35 km), the romantic castles on the Moselle, the timber-framed houses in Bernkastel-Kues (20 km) or the Roman buildings in Trier (Porta Nigra, Amphi Theatre, Roman Baths, etc.) (35 km).In less than an hour you can go to Luxemburg and its capital with top restaurants and many sights. From April to November you can enjoy the hospitality of the local people at various wine fests. Our recommended cycling routes connect a number of attractive sights and places on the river Moselle..

A guesthouse that exceeded our expectations

A very welcoming apartment in a lovely town by Mosel. The house was fully equipped and in excellent condition. We highly recommend it to everyone, also those who are travelling with children. A special thanks to owners who made us feel very welcomed with their hospitality.

One of the highlights of our holiday was an introduction tour to winemaking given by a local winegrower. Also many of the other villages nearby are worth to visit.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

An excellent holiday home.

A wonderful holiday home, fully equiped, clean, modern and comfortable. Very friendly owners with nothing too much trouble. A beautiful area of the Moselle Valley, a boat trip on the river is a must.
Many lovely towns and villages to visit, our favourite was Bernkastle. Ideal for cycling, sightseeing and relaxing.

Dass es so schön war, lag an der Landschaft, dem schönen Wetter, dem Wein und nicht zuletzt am Ferienhaus und dessen Besitzern. Man kann der Beschreibung im Online-Inserat voll vertrauen, es ist so wie beschrieben: geräumig, großzügig, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sauber und sehr ruhig. Das Haus enthält alles, was man zu einem entspannten Urlaub braucht. Dazu kommt ein Stellplatz fürs Auto und die Fahrräder. Reichhaltiges Informationsmaterial zu Ausflügen aller Art steht zur Verfügung.
Die Umgebung ist perfekt für Wanderungen und Radtouren. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und dabei angenehm zurückhaltend. Das hat uns gut gefallen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
