Welcome! Beautiful river and mountain top views on a large secluded country estate; this is the ideal venue for family reunions, retreats, business gatherings and vacations. Nestled on 20 private acres, it is only ten minutes from Skamania Lodge and the downtown main street area.
Spectacular views of the Cascade Mountain range, the Columbia River, Bridge of the Gods and an old family fruit orchard are revealed as you drive down the private gravel lane to your home in the trees. The house was built for a large family and offers 4800 sq. ft. of private and common family style areas. Exposed Douglas fir ceilings, three wood burning fireplaces, a large wrap around deck and expansive viewing windows are special features.
The main floor offers a fully equipped kitchen along with an open dining and family area. The large farmhouse table seats 10-12. Two other 8' folding tables are available for large gatherings. A separate living room has comfortable couches and a baby grand piano. The laundry and two bathrooms are on this level.
Upstairs are 5 bedrooms and three baths. Two of the bedrooms offer queen beds, two others have extra long twin beds. The fifth bedroom has a double bed. There is also a small reading den and conversation/ loft area that is a nice place for quiet time or that can be used as the '7th' bedroom. Downstairs, one queen bedroom has outside and drive-up access. The large recreational space in the basement can be used for large group functions that can spill into the spacious backyard in good weather. A ping-pong table is fun for inside play. Other sleeping accommodations include portable sleeping pads and mattresses for use on the floor. Two large, separate rooms with bathrooms close by work well for this arrangement.
World class windsurfing, water sports of every kind, mountain and waterfall hiking trails, wineries, scenic drives, museums, golfing, river cruises and a range of dining choices are just some of your many options for recreation and entertainment in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Come and see!

Hi! We're Paul and Ann DeBolt. Our short story: married 33 years, raised 4 children and are eagerly looking forward to retirement! :-).
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
We grew up in the Stevenson/ Wind River/ Carson/ Gorge area where everyone knew everyone's family name. While the area has come a long way from the sleepy little logging burg it once was, it still has the same small town atmosphere where you greet the sheriff, the banker and the grocer by first name. We like that.
Paul has sailed in far flung waters around the world through his work in the maritime industry but the Pacific Northwest has always been our home.
We've always loved the unique rugged beauty of the Columbia Gorge and the many opportunities for experiencing nature up close and personal. Paul loves to hit the trails with his boys for day hikes up Star, Table and Hamilton Mts. (to name a few) while 'back at the farm' I'm debating whether to cook up a rhubarb pie or just daydream with a good book. Summertime is for old-fashioned family picnics, local swimming holes, blackberry and huckleberry picking, scenic drives, wineries and just plain kicking back and watching some breathtaking sunsets.
The Gorge is really one of those few remaining vacation secrets out there. A special place. We feel fortunate to be able to share our big family vacation home and hope that you'll come back to visit often!
Thank you so much to Ann for her lovely home in the Gorge. This is the second time we hosted a "mini-retreat" for some medical students (who were in much need of some quiet time.) The house is large - but cozy. It's very well-appointed and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The view is nothing short of spectacular and we were fortunate to have great weather to enjoy the deck. The students loved having the piano too!
Thank you Ann and family - we will be back!
My (large) family rented this property for the Thanksgiving weekend and everyone was so happy with the house! Every year our family gets together for the holiday and for the first time we were all able to be under one roof. The home was comfortable with so much space. There was a ping pong table, cards, and board games. There is no wifi or cable television but we used a wireless hotspot to catch a few football games.
The kitchen and dining was wonderful. There was no problem getting a thanksgiving dinner for 31 served on time along with several other large meals for our group. Extra tables and chairs were available and Ann even bought a turkey roasting pan for our use.
We did go into Stevenson for some shopping and took the kids to the nearby Bonneville fish hatchery. There is a market in Stevenson for supply runs too. The outside was secluded and the views were spectacular. Our stay went by too fast and we left with so many great memories. Can't wait to come back!!!
I needed a home that could accommodate my extended family and be close to my daughter's wedding venue. This property was perfect in every way! We had 20 people in the house and there was plenty of room for everyone, with enough space to prepare wedding salads, store the floral arrangements, and still have room to relax and unwind. A well kept, well stocked home with gorgeous views.
This large family home is ideal for a peaceful retreat with access to hiking, Stevenson, and Cascade Locks. While the home has older fixtures, the home is so well cared for it doesn't matter. And, it is perhaps the cleanest private rental property I have ever stayed in.
The owners are gracious, provide easy to follow directions, instructions, and ample supplies -- cooking supplies, fire wood, etc. We had 14 women in our group and there were plenty of beds for each of us. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean and crisp.
The only negative I can think of is that there was a homecoming football game the first night we were there and because of the echo in the canyon, we could clearly hear everything that was going on.
I imagine we will be back!
We rented this for a Thanksgiving family reunion. We had folks from all over the west coast, so the location near Portland airport was perfect. It home was lovely! We enjoyed the view, walks around the yard, even hearing the elk walk by in the night. There was lots of room for visiting, putting together puzzles, and letting the kids play and visit in the basement! Also a well-equipped kitchen and dining area for a good-sized group. We spent one day exploring Hood River, just down the road a bit... We will stay again when the timing permits!
Thanks for a great venue for our Peace Corps reunion (20 years-Costa Rica)! Everything was perfect, great views, facilities to have the weekend of a lifetime with old friends.
Highly recommend this spot as a launch pad for all the Columbia Gorge has to offer! Very grateful, thank you!
