Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

The cottage is located just north of Fredriksted on Sunset Beach, with your own private patios with steps down to the beach. We are walking distance to town and several beach bars / restaurants. You can enjoy delicious food and beverages or grill your own tropical feast on the patio and relax while the sun sets. You may get to see the green flash!!

Walk to Rainbow Beach for jet ski rentals and ATV tours into the rain forest, kick back and enjoy the bohemian atmosphere at our favorite beach bar on the island.

About The Owner

Hi, we are the Maley's. We live in the Catskill Mountains where we own a bed and breakfast known as the Sedgwick House, located in the Village of Hunter. I am the mayor of the Village, and a retired postmaster. My wife, Marge, is an office manager in NYC, looking forward to retirement.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2009
Why The Owner chose St. Croix

We looked at property all over St Croix, and kept coming back to Sunset Beach because it is the best spot on the island.

Very nice place to stay on St. Croix

My wife and I had a really good time at this cottage. It was a nice place to celebrate our anniversary. We were particularly impressed by how private it is. The beach is beautiful, and best of all just steps away form patio. The cottage itself was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The beds were very comfortable also. The bedrooms , and living areas are both spacious enough to accomadate two couples or small family. Bill, the owner, was very helpfull whenever I had any questions about the cottage or St. Croix itself. He gave very helpful suggestions on interesting things to see in the area. If you are looking for a nice laid back visit to St. Croix, and want to stay away from crowded resort areas, this is the place. My wife and I met some very interesting, and friendly local people, and took in some nice sites (not to mention beautiful sunsets). We would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. This is a great place to kick back

There are a lot of things to do on St. Croix, a few even within walking distance of this cottage. But by far the best part of this cottage is that is a great place to do nothing. You can sit on the back patio listening to and watching the ocean from sun up to sun down doing nothing, just having a great day.

Great family vacation.

We came from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Colorado and could not have picked a more beautiful spot for a family vacation. The beach - right outside our door - was great for the kids. The cottage was in walking distance to Rainbow Beach and downtown Frederiksted. The cottage was clean and very well equiped. Thanks for a great time.

Great private beach house

I looked at a number of places in the Caribbean before deciding on the US. Virgin Islands and finally ST Croix. I rented this place for my wife and I to spend our honeymoon. I wanted to avoid a commercialized experience. There is no room service or cabana boys to bring you cocktails so if thats what you expect maybe this place is not for you. If you want a private place where nobody bothers you and you can enjoy the company of your Spouse/family members then this place is perfect. Plus you can drink your morning coffee, then swim or put on your mask and flippers and snorkel straight from the back door. Everything you need is already there. Kitchen, refridgerator, beach towels, snorkel gear... Great price for a beachfront vacation in the Caribbean...

There are a number of things to do nearby, nice beaches, beach bars, horseback riding. Snorkeling and Scuba diving. Driving about 30 mins to Christiansted will reveal even more restaraunts and shopping. You will need a rental car most places on ST. Croix.

The only thing I would change is that the windows are slatted wood. Seemed pretty common around there so I cant really subtract points for it. Although you cant see out of the house with the windows closed, so in the summer with the A/C on you wont have much of a view other than the sliding door. Also bugs had a tendancy to get inside even with screens.
