Corolla Village and the Corolla Lighthouse are less than 1 mile away!!
For those who are more adventurous, head 2 miles North to the end of NC12 and the start of the 4-Wheel-Drive Beach Access Road - everyone drives out on the beach to hang out, swim, and fish! That's where you'll occasionally see the Wild Horses that our house is named after!
Grocery Stores and Restaurants are within a 5 min. drive. Or you may drive south to Duck, about a 20 min. drive, and check out the shops and restaurants there.
Surrounding Area:
There is so much to see and do in Corolla Light. Whalehead Club is a historical landmark and old hunting club. Tours and concerts on the grounds are available during the week. The Currituck Lighthouse is about 1 mile north. You can even see it at night from our Living Room window. Visit the grounds, walk to the top, and stop by the gift shop. The Nature Center is new and located between the Whalehead Club and Currituck Lighthouse. Check the calendar in the Outer Banks newspaper for planned activities for children and adults. Something is happening almost daily in the summer. And in the off-season it's a great place to just browse and learn the history of the area. The Corolla Light Village is also historical and many shops are located in the buildings for you to enjoy. If you walk across the street and past the Sports Center, you will find the sound-side area. There are paths to walk and enjoy. Some of the outdoor adventure rentals are located there in the summer.
