PANORAMIC WATER AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS FROM PORT ORCHARD HILLTOP

Beautiful, secluded setting; warmth and charm; spacious and luxurious comfort; the highest standards in appearance and cleanliness; friendly, attentive, and accommodating hosts--we couldn't have asked for more! This was the ideal place for our extended family get-together in October 2010. Nineteen of us, spanning three generations, had the run of the inn for an entire weekend. We were thrilled to experience the togetherness of being in one house together without ever feeling crowded. Six adult couples each had their own bedroom with attached bathroom, and the youngest generation (all cousins) used one bedroom for the three girls and the basement/rec room as a bedroom for the four boys. The kitchen was amazing, with plenty of room for lots of us to be in there at once, and equipped with everything needed for preparing and serving meals and easy clean-up. The long counter was perfect for setting out each of our meals buffet-style, and we enjoyed using the beautiful dishes, glassware, and serving pieces. We were all able to sit comfortably together in the dining room for meals, and we also managed to all fit into the main living room area to watch slide shows one evening. The covered parking with direct access to the kitchen was much appreciated, and the exquisite grand piano was another lovely extra. The owners were so gracious to have it tuned previous to our arrival after hearing that several of us in the family play piano. As their website notes, the Inn "has been lovingly restored to its historic grace," but be assured that in this case "historic" does not mean cold or stuffy. Every room and every piece of furniture is sink-in-and-put-your-feet-up comfortable and inviting. We truly felt as if someone had graciously invited us into their own home. Our family is so looking forward to returning for another stay this October!
