In its own right, our cabin and dock are famous-if you are a movie buff. In 1983, several scenes from the movie, Firestarter, were filmed on the property. The most memorable being when Charlie and her dad were captured by 'the Shop' while crossing our very own dock. The film featured an all-star cast including Drew Barrymore, Martin Sheen, & George C. Scott. The dock mentioned above extends all the way across the end of the cove (approx 100 ft) and is truly unique. We added a picnic area with custom Adirondack chairs for sitting, sunning or picnicking. The entire dock is ideal for fishing. Two kayaks are on hand as well as a canoe, and paddle boat-all ready to enjoy Sunset Cove. We invite you to come and enjoy your own private get-a-way at Papa Bob's Cabin.

There is a loft area that is accessible by a ladder with two twin beds. So, bring a good book, your swimsuit, your favorite game and your fishing pole and come and relax. The cabin is adjacent to 'Ledfords Landing' which is also found on Great Rentals listing #9939. The two properties may be rented together for large family gatherings. A 1999 Voyager Pontoon boat is available for rent with cabin at $195/day minimum 3 days. {PLEASE NOTE: In 2006, the Lake Lure Marine Commission passed a regulation that makes it unlawful for our guests to use the pontoon for 'towables'}
