July 8, 2007What a delightful stay at the Lake House! From the luscious bedding the the serene lagoon view—our ten days were perfect. We enjoyed the Lake, fabulous warm water swimming –late at night, and especially all the amenities once could ever need… thoughtfully provided. My sister and I and our children thoroughly enjoyed and relaxed and will never forget it.Thank you so much for the hospitality. North Carolina rocks! All the best,Linda Lockwood, San Rafael California
We had a great time and even though I didnt realize the place was so small and is a guest house of a main house it was pleasantly comfortable for 4 adults and private. The tv area is not ideal for watching tv for 4 people but this made us enjoy the outdoors more and play cards. Everything you need right here in this little spot. Dogs loved the water and it is also nice for swimming off the dock for people. I would highly recommend this location!
My new favorite vacation! Loved every minute! Will return soon! Thank you!
My husband and I had family in the area, so we were very lucky to find this wonderful cottage. Much thought went into the furnishings and appointments. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and visits from the resident great blue heron as well as the neighbor's black lab. The owners could not have been more accommodating.
This adorable little cottage was comfortable and clean. The décor was charming. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The pillows on the beds are really thick, so if you like that, you're in luck. If you need a smaller or thinner pillow, you may want to bring your own. :)
The weather was still warm enough to take our boat out and enjoy beautiful Lake Norman. We had a daily visit from a sweet neighbor dog named Ted. (I believe that's what his name was) The state park is just down the road so we enjoyed hiking the trails. The fall colors were amazing. Lots of vivid yellow, red and orange leaves on the trees. We discovered a quaint but beautiful vineyard not far away where we listened to a live band and were introduced to new white and red wines. It was a nice treat to happen upon this. The vineyard is named Daveste, after the owners.
Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and very clean. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.
As an English couple our stay on Lake Norman was something really different, having spent the previous 10 days in the Ashville area.
We found the cottage was really well appointed and lots of thought had gone in the décor and general ambience.
The location is superb and spending the evenings in the peace and tranquillity of the lakeside was unforgettable.
Both Alicia and Geoff made us welcome and of course not forgetting "Pebbles" their dog.
My fiance and I stayed at this cozy lakehouse from 6/28/14 until 7/1/14, and it was wonderful! Right on the lake, very quiet as it's mainly away from everything. Morning views were wonderful, and sitting on the dock with our feet in the water in the evenings was quite relaxing! It is not very far from shopping, restaurants, or wineries, so that was a plus for us. We also took some time and went to some of the Nascar shops. We really enjoyed our relaxing mini-vacation on the lake! Makes me want to move to the lake! Would definitely return to this spot. Oh, and Teddy, one of the neighborhood dogs, is quite friendly as well.
