As you approach this condo along Highway 101, you are struck by the spectacular beauty of the Oregon Coast. You enter the gate to this secluded condo complex and immediately notice the well-maintained grounds and peaceful surroundings. After the short flights of stairs to this top floor condo, you open the front door and find yourself faced with an incredible view of beach, sea stacks, small islands and ocean. Once you have settled in, you move from the full size windows in the living room to the slider in the dinning room and out to the balcony, saying 'this view is unsurpassable!' Welcome to The Breakers at Rainbow rock.
This luxury oceanfront condo is a perfect getaway destination for couples who enjoy hiking, nature, and for those who just want to relax with one of the best ocean views imaginable. Enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean while you read (since this is the fourth building west from the highway there are only ocean sounds, no road noise.) View wildlife (whales, osprey, seals, etc.) right from the living room. Watch the fishing boats and surfers. The Breakers is equipped with binoculars for viewing from the living room and balcony overlooking the ocean.
For those who just want to relax, The Breakers at Rainbow Rock can comfortably accommodate four adults in two nicely appointed bedrooms (a queen bed in each room) and two full bathrooms (all linens provided). You'll find many features for your comfort and enjoyment: spacious living and dining area with seating that encourages relaxing, a gas fireplace, a well-supplied kitchen, television with cable/satellite service, high speed internet and Wi-Fi, a selection of DVD’s, VHS tapes, books, a balcony, private garage, and more! Enjoy a meal from the BBQ on the balcony or leave the sliding glass door open and enjoy the sounds of the ocean while you cook a meal from the ocean-view kitchen and dining room.
For those who want a little more activity, take the short hike down the private trail to the secluded beach and tide pools. Low tides provide the opportunity to visit the natural caves at the beach below and expand the beach for long beach walks. Hike to the north along 26 miles of coastal trails in Samuel Boardman State Park. The trailhead to the park starts right at the parking lot, just a few steps from the The Breakers. Go out to dinner in one of the many restaurants in Brookings, or travel south to seaside dining across the border in CA (15 minutes) or north to Gold Beach (30 minutes.)
For those who want even more activity, visit other local beaches or take the short drive to hike in the California redwood forests. Bring your kayaks and enjoy ocean kayaking, or river kayaking at the nearby Chetco, Winchuck, and Smith Rivers, or in coastal lagoons. When not in use, the kayaks can be stored in the garage. If you’d rather not do the paddling, take the short trip up to Gold Beach and enjoy the famous jet boat rides at the Rogue River. Then again, maybe you’d rather rent a boat or sign up for a fishing trip at the Brookings Harbor. With a garage available, bring your bikes and go bike riding on the Oregon Coast. Grab your clubs for a round of golf at the Salmon Run Golf Course a few miles east of Brookings.
Visit The Breakers once and you will want to return again and again.

Steve works for a small engineering firm in California and Lauren is a college Professor in California. The Breakers is our second home to be used much more frequently once we retire.
We searched from Bodega Bay to Seattle and this was the best view we found. We like water sports, photography and hiking. The location between Harris Beach State Park and Samuel Boardman State Park could not be more perfect.
Sipping wine on the deck enjoying the endless view; driving into town for clam chowder; walking out for a hike in the park (north) or a long beack walk (south).
Samuel Boardman State Park trailhead is at edge of property, the south end of a 26 mile coastal trail.
