Beautiful Place By the Sea.....

Ferranti United States
Review Submitted: October 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This place was incredible. The photos of the views do not do the property justice. The deck overlooking Perkins Cove and the inlet/outlet was spacious and had comfortable chairs - and a great table w/ umbrella. We sat out here for coffee in the am - cocktails in the evening - and never tired of the view. The kitchen and entire house was well appointed - there was nothing we needed. THe sheets and towels were great. The property was immaculate when we arrived, the person we worked with when booking was excellent in terms of providing accurate information and response time. We would rate these accomodations as excellent and hope we will have the opportunity to go back next year!

Absolutely Wonderful

Review Submitted: September 23, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
I must say this home was everything it said it was and so much more. The view was awesome. We caught some wild lightening storms one night and captured some terrific photos. The home is secluded and yet close to everything. The foot bridge to Perkins Cove was within walking distance eliminating the stress of finding a parking spot. We took the trolley from there to the beach and other stops. The home had everything you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious and nicely laid out. I can't think of anything that was missing. You could definitely share this with two families. The property manager was wonderful to deal with. Pam was very accommodating and professional. This vacation was a slice of Heaven. We had breakfast everyday overlooking the cove. I cannot think of a better way to start the day than overlooking that gorgeous cove having breakfast with my family. This house is one of the best rental finds yet. Looking forward to going back soon. Linda (RI)

We loved our two weeks here -- house was really clean and well stocked with nearly everything you need, including beach towels and beach chairs. Incredible views from three sides of the house. Easy walk to Perkins Cove, need car for town and beach.

Absolutely Fabulous!!!

Review Submitted: August 15, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The photos do not do the house justice. The house was beautiful and very clean when we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and we found many cooking essentials in the cupboards. The house is a very short walk to Perkins Cove and about 15 minutes from York and York Beach. I must say this was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a long time. My parents and my younger sister joined us and, even with 5 adults in the house, there was plenty of space to go sit alone quietly if you wanted to. Two minor items to note... The wireless internet was very temperamental. It would work for internet at times and then work local only other times. Also, two calls for non-urgent items to the number on the fridge for maintenance went unanswered. These items were minor and did not affect our stay at all. We plan on coming back soon.

Splendid vac that lingers long after it's done

Seafaring Boston, MA, US
Review Submitted: July 27, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
The first thing that struck me was that the write-up about the place matched what we found at the vacation home. It sort of set the stage for us to feel comfortable - as if we'd been there before.

The property agent was very friendly and professional, and the place showed that a high quality of maintenance was kept. The rooms were clean, the amenities were good, and the location was perfect.

The only item that was not as anticipated was that we were told that the Trolley car would serve the Shore Road up to the property. On closer examination it turned out not to be the case. The Trolley car only goes to the Perkins Cove area. However, you don't need a car to get around if you choose. We found a short cut that took us over the bridge to the Cove and beyond and we took several long walks (we are walkers) to the main drag to go to the town center or go to the Marginal way over to the beach area.

The Museum and the local galleries (including the Barn) were a delightful diversion for a day. The restaurants, a list was provided, were great, especially the french 98 Provence. The local plays make for a great entertainment evening. We didn't get a chance to try out a night club but may do that next time. The atmosphere is nice and enjoys a great deal of european flair with predominantly tourists coming from the Quebec area. As you can imagine, Ogunquit is a great area for kids but it also suits romantic getaways.

We also enjoyed taking a boat trip which starts with the opening of the draw bridge to allow the masts to get through and going to the ocean, beautiful at dusk.

Unfortunately due to business issues, we had to leave to go back to MA for a little while and get back again. The place is close enough that this was done without taking a big chunk out of the vacation time.

Waking up to the sound of the ocean, the spectacular views and the wonderful deck with the views of the Perkins Cove and the inlet to the Ocean will stay with me for a while. This was exactly what we needed - we hope to be back next year.
