Black Hills 3BR/2BA Log Home On 17 Acres. Very Private

Custom Log Home, 2100 sq. ft. home in very private 17 acre meadow completely surrounded by National Forest. Beautiful views with no highways, neighbors or noisy tourists in sight. Near hiking, biking, horse trails, within 1-2 miles from Mickelson Trail, Golf course, fishing lake. Within 10-20 miles of Custer State Park, Needles highway, Mt. Rushmore National Monument, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Sylvan Lake, Stockade Lake, Bismark Lake, Legion Lake.

BR B Amenities: /B BR Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer. Pellet stove and gas fireplace, covered porch with beautiful view and gas BBQ grill. Family room with TV with satellite, DVD and VCR movies, games, pinball, Nintendo 64, juke box.

BR B Activities: /B BR The cabin has direct access to millions of acres of trails and beautiful scenery.

Within 1-2 miles is the Mickelson trail which runs over 100 miles from Deadwood to Edgemont. The Hills most beautiful lakes, Sylvan, Legion, Bismark, and Stockade are all within 6-15 miles for great fishing, swimming or boating. Custer and neighboring Hill City have tons of unique shops and galleries. The local golf course is within 1 mile, or drive to Hot Spring to the golf course voted '#1 9 hole golf course in North America' by Golf Digest.

Of course Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial are within 5-20 minutes. Custer State Park, 6-7 miles east, has one of the largest free roaming Buffalo herds in the world, as well as wild burros, big horn sheep, prairie dogs, deer etc. In October is the Buffalo Roundup with a 2 day Arts Festival. Visitors can watch the actual round-up of the Buffalo. They are sorted and some are sold at the Buffalo Auction later in the fall.

My favorite is the caves-- Wind Cave National Park and Jewel Cave National monument.

Jewel Cave National Monument is 7 miles and Wind Cave National Park is 15 miles and are both world class caves with scenic and spelunking tours.

Bikers --We are located 2 miles outside of Custer and about 75 scenic miles from Sturgis. There is about 3/4 mile of well maintained gravel road from the highway to the cabin. There is a large barn w/concrete floor to store bikes and trailers.

Wonderful Choice

This home has it all, views, wildlife and serenity. It is located close to all activities with easy access. It is tucked away in your own little corner of the Black Hills, yet close enough to all. The home was beautiful with all the comforts of home. Everything was very clean and many amenities were avaliable. The owners really made us feel welcome and at home. We will definately return to the Black Hills and this home will be our first choice for base camp. I would highly recommend this home to my friends and to anyone who just needs and quiet place to relax.

Easter Trip 2013

Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin and enjoyed the surrounding area very much. We decided to take this trip with my mother who is terminally ill with lung cancer because she had never seen Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The privacy and beauty of the cabin only added to our experience and Jody was a great to work with. Thank you for everything and I hope to be back some day.

This is a nice log cabin and property that is close to Custer but very quiet. The peaceful setting was just what we were looking for to get some needed R&R and a little sightseeing.
Our first day we decided to go see the devils tower in Wyoming, where I lost the keys to the cabin. I didn't realize it until Jody called me on the way back to Custer.(Jody's name and phone number are on the keys and the ranger found them.) What could have been a bed situation getting back after dark and discovering we had no way to get into the cabin and its freezing outside, Jody had a new set of keys waiting for us when we got back. Thank You Jody!
Also thank you for giving us ideas for dining out. The steak house in Pringle was Great!!
We will be returning soon to stay again.

We had a wonderful Winter Stay

This log home was just beautiful !!! We had such a wonderful, relaxing time. The pellet stove and fireplace were so warm and inviting. We did allot of cooking, playing the cool jukebox, and our son enjoyed the pinball machine. The home is decorated so well. The long lane was so nice to walk along. If it were warmer we would have went out on the deck but too cold when we were here. Such pretty views. Jody was so nice and hospitable. Thank you Jody. We wanted to rent this home Easter but already taken. Bummer !! Hope to rent it again sometime soon when we come visit our son who is going to college in Chadron. Beautifully handcrafted log home we think.

AMAZING MEMORIES

We had an absolute blast that the cabin. Our boys were so excited that it snowed and they could go sledding on the hill right below the deck! Also as it was snowing Saturday morning my boyfriend popped the question. So this cabin will never be forgotten for both its amazing view and for the memories we created as a family!
