Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hagie,
Thanks for renting your lovely cabin home to our family for the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a wonderful time. Your home is so spacious, comfortable and cozy. The décor was tastefully done and very welcoming. It was definitely well equipped. This is our 5th year spending our holiday vacation in the mountains. Your cabin home is by far the most accommodating. We were surprise to have access to cabinets full of pots, pans and dishes. For years we have been bring our own because there was the bare minimum.
The location was breathtaking and easy to get to. We had no problems with your directions.
Again, thanks for everything. Our family enjoyed the shopping and skiing. You get 5 stars :). Enjoyed talking to you.
I rented the cabin for a weekend ski trip to Beech Mountain. Although the weather didn't cooperate the entire weekend we were able to find plenty of other things to do, even in January. There was hiking and spelunking within a 20 minute drive, Boone is only 10 minutes away and Beech Mountain is also only 20 minutes away. Doesn't get much more central than that. And what could be better to come back to than a nice, toasty hot tub outside on the deck.
The interior is very spacious and we could have had 3 times as many people sitting on all the couches alone and still had room for plenty more. The kitchen was fully stocked with tools, utensils and even donations of spices left by previous renters. We cooked breakfast and dinner each night (once using the gas grill on the deck) and had everything we needed. The dining table easily sits 10. There was plenty of towels, extra blankets and even roll-away beds in some of the closets if you need to stretch the sleeping arrangements further. In my opinion, if you counted bedrooms, roll-aways and couches, you could technically sleep 20 in this cabin. Since we didn't ski we didn't need to use the washer but the dryer worked great to dry hot tub towels! The water was hot even with two showers going and kept good pressure.
We originally had a group of 6 adults that ended up being reduced to 4 unexpectedly. Benny took pity on us and reduced our rate. He didn't have to do that and we really appreciated it. I will rent this cabin again next year for our ski trip and won't even bother checking the weather.
We had such a nice snow vacation with our family while staying at the cabin. Everything was clean and the house was plenty big enough for us all to be comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub. It was snowing the first morning we woke up and everything was so beautiful. The view from the wrap around porch was very nice as well. The owner gave us exact directions to the place and I am so glad he let us know in advance that our GPS wasn't going to be very effective up in the mountains. I cooked all the meals in the huge kitchen. The boys went snowboarding at the Beech Mountain Ski Slopes. I would recommend this property to family and friends. We hope to be able to go back in the summer and spend some more time there.
The inside is emmaculate! Very relaxing while the "girls" made supper in the open kitchen space and the guys gave orders from the couches. Enough bathrooms with space for all to stay happy. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub (while 35 outside) and watch the young-uns play cornhole on the wide open deck out of the weather.
The furniture, appliances, household items, cooking items (2 coffee makers) were in excellent shape and well used. The bedrooms are plenty spaciuos and the chestdrawers useful. Only problem is the matresses r not the best.
Would recommend to friends.
Our family spent a week at this cabin in August 2008, and
it was very clean with plenty of linens, very nice towels,
dishes etc. The spa is very nice, also the porch is huge,
with a gas grill. The owner was very helpful with directions
and suggestions. It was a long drive to the nearest store,
restaurant or town, maybe it seemed further than it really
was because of the narrow and winding roads.
We all had cell phones that did not work there. Once in
a while if we walked up the gravel road you could get a
signal, but it usually dropped off.
This home is very clean and comfortable! The open floor plan affords just the right balance of private vs. common space. The kitchen is stocked with tons of dishes, utensils, cookery and two coffee pots! The closets are full of linens, pillows and towels! What a treat to not have to lug all that with us! The porch is grand and very comfortable. My group of 11 included the following ages: 59, 58, 43, 40, 40, 30, 11,11, 6, 2, 2. We had ample space. With loads of day trip excursions, there was something for everyone. The GoBlueRidge Card is a perfect complement to vacationers! You'll love this cabin!
