There are two beautiful porches on the cabin; the back porch looks out over an ever-changing panorama of one of the great views of the great lakes. Who goes to the McIntosh lodge? Mostly it's families for reunions... there's lots of ways to set up your tribe, but we get a lot of people looking for an out-of-the-way intimate and romantic nest to spend some quality time with their mate. The common thread of all our guests is a desire for privacy, time apart from the maddening pace of life in 2007 and looking for a splendid way to recharge batteries. The cabin is about 400 feet from the water, and the sound of the waves at night will lull you to sleep very quickly. The trail down to the beach is a wonderful 1-minute nature walk, the beach stretches as far as you can see in either direction with virtually no development or people on it. There is one pair of cabins, about 500 feet East, and the private owners there are really wonderful people. There's an 80 foot pier/dock.
lake, perfect for sunning, reading a book in a beach chair, and hopping into the crystal-clear waters whenever you want! If you're wondering why the prices are so reasonable at the lodge, it's because I set them that way so that I will be able to afford more people a chance to see one of the most peaceful and beautiful cabins on the entire Great Lakes. Lots of amenities are nearby, you probably know most or all of them, but what you might not know is that there is a great full-service hospital less then 15 minutes away, people up in northern Michigan small towns are really friendly, and there are terrific things to do there at ANY time of year.
Best wishes from us both,
Tom and Eve Mc Intosh
