Photos and Description of the Cheboygan vacation lodge rental
Lovely Luxury Lodge! 4BR/2BA All Wood Rustic Contemporary Cabin with Great Ameni

Dear Friends.... We have a hidden jewel waiting for you in Cheboygan, the Mc Intosh Solitude Lodge. It is a newly-built but very rustic Log Cabin overlooking the straits area of Lake Huron. It's about 10 minutes east of town and right on US Hwy 23. The winding 450 ft. road that takes you to the cabin through beautiful woods affords privacy and envelops you in Nature!

When you arrive, it looks like any other log cabin, but one look inside the door and you will be amazed at the solid-wood (knotty cedar) interior! Bathrooms have 6' x 10' beams of cedar in them; rustic in spades! There are 4 bedrooms and 2 BA. You can view The Lodge in greater detail through our own website. Go to the link at the bottom of the page for lots of answers, a picture of our family, the beach in summer, and about 7 other photos, 12 photos in all.

There is even a floor plan showing how the 2,200 sq. ft. are laid out, and how the cabin would work out for your group.

Two topics.... #1 To secure time at the lodge FOR SURE, mail us a check for 1/2 the rental amt. right away, and we will email you the rental agreement, etc. This method is 98% effective. Second method: ask for a rental agreement BEFORE you send the check; we will send you one right away, you will get it, etc. But, there are problems, many and varied, with this technique. This method is about 50% effective.

Topic #2 The area is a bit out of the way of heavily-traveled areas like Petoskey,

Harbor Springs, Mackinac Isl. etc., but we like it that way. The time it takes to get to those places gives you time to relax and enjoy the company that you are with, without time pressures that you get in the world every day, without let-up. PLACES: Boyne for skiing, many places(all Very beautiful) for golf, the Soo area for lock-watching,

waterfalls, sand dunes, painted rocks boat rides, all are wonderful, our #1 memory was riding bikes the 8 mi. around Mackinac!..

Further details for this vacation lodge rental in Cheboygan, Michigan

There are two beautiful porches on the cabin; the back porch looks out over an ever-changing panorama of one of the great views of the great lakes. Who goes to the McIntosh lodge? Mostly it's families for reunions... there's lots of ways to set up your tribe, but we get a lot of people looking for an out-of-the-way intimate and romantic nest to spend some quality time with their mate. The common thread of all our guests is a desire for privacy, time apart from the maddening pace of life in 2007 and looking for a splendid way to recharge batteries. The cabin is about 400 feet from the water, and the sound of the waves at night will lull you to sleep very quickly. The trail down to the beach is a wonderful 1-minute nature walk, the beach stretches as far as you can see in either direction with virtually no development or people on it. There is one pair of cabins, about 500 feet East, and the private owners there are really wonderful people. There's an 80 foot pier/dock.

lake, perfect for sunning, reading a book in a beach chair, and hopping into the crystal-clear waters whenever you want! If you're wondering why the prices are so reasonable at the lodge, it's because I set them that way so that I will be able to afford more people a chance to see one of the most peaceful and beautiful cabins on the entire Great Lakes. Lots of amenities are nearby, you probably know most or all of them, but what you might not know is that there is a great full-service hospital less then 15 minutes away, people up in northern Michigan small towns are really friendly, and there are terrific things to do there at ANY time of year.

Best wishes from us both,

Tom and Eve Mc Intosh

Northwoods Seclusion

Review Submitted: May 6, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
This property is awesome! The pictures really don't do justice to the interior or the view. From the taxidermy to the pictures on the walls, it's practically like a museum of natural history- fantastic. Beautiful log furniture, gas fireplace, full length covered porches front and back- the works. The lakefront is great, especially if you have any "rock hounds" along. Lots of fossils if you have the patience to look. The kids really enjoyed the game room, and also watching the freighters pass by. We'll be back.

Wonderful family get-together spot

Review Submitted: August 17, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
Our three generations enjoyed the forest seclusion but also daytrips to Mackinac Island and Fort Michilimackinac, interesting historical fun destinations only a half an hour away. Closer, the expansive sandy beaches of the roadside park a mile further east and at Cheboygan State Park were great for the little ones; they fed the sea gulls there. Staying put, over the week we watched the changing moods and freighters of the mighty Lake Huron over coffee cups on the long back porch and explored the natural stony beach. The granddaughters looked for fossils in the stones, and the 30-something dads launched canoes from the new pier on calmer days. Air hockey, PacMan, and the pool table provided ample activity on our one blustery rainy day. Very peaceful to go to sleep with the lull of the surf through open windows. The lodge was nicely appointed and the granddaughters were fascinated with the taxidermy. Tom and the local caretaker were great to work with. Coming away with fine memories.

Beautiful Places in Michigan!!

Review Submitted: March 21, 2011 Date of Stay: March 2011
Dear Tom,

Our stay this past weekend was wonderful. Jim, Carl, Phyllis and I had the best time just to relax and enjoy each others compnay. We visited a couple of the Casino's one in Petosky and the one in St. Ignace. The hot tub was a total plus of relaxation. The view of Lake Huron was beautiful. Thank you once again for a wonderful time in Cheboygan. We will be visiting again with our family in the fall.

PERFECT!

Review Submitted: February 6, 2011 Date of Stay: February 2011
2-4/11 - 2/06/11 What an incredible place. It is gorgeous, pristine, quiet, comfortable and relaxing. It was a wonderful time in every way for our my daughter's 17th birthday and for myself. None of us wanted to go back home, even though it was only 15 miles away! There was everything to do for every age. Hot tub, pool table, even Ms.PacMan arcade game. The view was beautiful.
Thank you Tom and Eve.

Just what we were looking for!

Review Submitted: August 30, 2010 Date of Stay: May 2010
Our stay at the Solitude Lodge was perfect in every way! My husband and I and 3 adult children had only one week to spend together this summer. Our week here was so relaxing and provided the beauty and atmosphere that's hard to find anywhere else. The cabin was roomy but cozy, rustic but brimming with modern conveniences and super clean but homey. Though the walk down to the beach was much longer than the advertised "minute," the feeling of seclusion, fabulous sunsets, and view from the porch were all the icing on the cake and worth every step. Tom was so personable and easy to work with, and the welcome basket and endless supply of Culligan water were so appreciated. Thanks, Tom and Eve, for opening your cabin for us to enjoy. We WILL be back!
