First off, both Chris and George are very nice people. George greeted us as we arrived, showed us the place and then got out of our way. He had a lot of great information for us so we enjoyed talking to him. We had a great time watching the numerous birds at the feeders and the river. People watching as well with the Indianford Dam close by we could watch the comings and goings as people fished and had a picnic. Very secluded but nice view of the river down below. The cottage had everything you need but food. The deck is awesome to relax and the screened in porch came in handy for the one day we had morning rain. We even saw a Barred Owl right in a tree close to the cottage. We will be back if the owners will let us!
We stayed here in February. The cottage was dated, but cozy. The cabin overlooked a peaceful river and is on a wooded lot. We had to leave early and the owners worked with us for a partial refund, which we appreciated.
My husband and I travel extensively and are always looking for that unique place where we can be by ourselves, yet enjoy the local area we are visiting. After searching online for the perfect spot, close to where we were working, I came upon this hidden gem.
The owner was helpful and kind, also very informative about the area.
Every detail was thought out when we arrived. There was soft music playing, a little mood lighting, there were even a couple of squirrels to greet us.
Everything we could ever ask for was provided in the cabin, we wanted for nothing.
We sat by the cozy fireplace and then hiked over the bridge for some great food!
Ducks on the partially frozen river kept us entertained, yet we were able to work as the wifi was fast and cell service perfect.
We did not want to leave this happy, family syle cabin.
It reminded us of our childhood cabins.
Enjoyed each moment of this peaceful place.
We stayed for a weekend and took in some fishing. The location and cabin was great! Everything was very clean. We fished from the pier and used the John boat to catch fish by the bridge. No complaints at all. The owners were very nice and helpful. Overall, we had a great time. I definitely recommend staying here!
This is such a charming cabin! It's situated on a lovely property on the Rock River. It was perfect for a girls' getaway. The sun porch was perfect for reading and relaxing. The house and lawn are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. George and Chris are so kind and helpful. We will be back! :-)
This place was amazing! Me and my significant other had a lot of fun there even though this winter was tough and the trees were bare. It snowed while we was staying there, but the cold weather did not ruin the fun. You can light the fire pit, go catch some fish, relax and enjoy being far away from computers and sky scrapers. (Of course they offer WiFi if you would like, I decided to leave my laptop at home and enjoy the nature). It is worth the visit, you will go back relaxed and well rested. No yoga class, no can of beer or glass of wine will make you this relaxed as the Rock River cabin. It is well maintained, extremely clean, place. There is a pub where few locals go to right across the river if you would like to go out, this town has a lot of interesting history to it.
We will be back!
