-Stuff we love about the cabin: The flat lawn by David's Park - a very spiritual place; the pairs of chairs everywhere for star gazing, lake gazing, tree gazing; the swings on the porch; the lack of noise, cars, people; the extremely well equipped kitchen...MW & JM
-We loved the beauty, peacefulness and serenity of this comfortable abode. Learn the strength and feel of the wind by the tones of the wind chimes. We can only leave by somehow plotting our return in the future... ER & PA
-A peaceful place that provided the ultimate escape from reality for us. This place is not easy to leave but it is reassuring to know that it exists and that other lovers will have an opportunity to experience some of what we enjoyed. A hen turkey, a deer, a hummingburd, and two great blue heron helped welcome us... R & J
We were looking for peace, quiet and a place to collect our souls and clear our minds. And we sure found all of that here...K & ES
-Thanks for the opoportunity to escape from the everyday...M & JK

We are located in Dutchess County - the heart of the Hudson River Valley with the historic towns of Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Millbrook, and Red Hook. Mansions and museums are to be found along the river together with antique shops, wineries, and beautiful scenery. Some nearby attractions include the Roosevelt home and library, Vanderbilt Mansion, Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, the Omega Institute, and the Culinary Institute.
Of special interest is the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park which opened in October 2009. This is the word's longest (1.28 miles), elevated (212 ft) pedestrian bridge and has been visited by over 1,000,000 people in the first 2 years since it has opened. It began as a railroad bridge in 1888 and at that time was the longest bridge in the world. In 1974 it was partially destroyed by fire and it's 'railroad days' were over. A grassroots nonprofit group was responsible for saving the bridge and today it has become a leading tourist destination and state park!
