Our lake cottage is a cute, cozy get away. There are two bedrooms with king sized beds and one bedroom with twin bunk beds (this bedroom only has a curtain for a door.) The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to use, but there are also restaurants near by if you don't feel like cooking. Several day spas are close enough to make it feel like a real vacation!
Down the hill from the house is the single slip dock at the wide end of a cove. (Note: the hill is steep - please look at the video tour on the website under 'links' below to make sure this property works for you!) A boat launch at Little River Park around the corner from the house makes bringing your own boat or jet ski easy to do! We have rafts for your use, but bring your own fishing poles...
The street our house is on is across Hwy 11/129 from Laurel Park. If you are involved in an event there it would be an easy 'commute' home every night. Even if you aren't it is a great park with a 'squirt park' and play grounds for little ones and a 'bark park' if you bring your four legged friends.
We are also only 3 miles from the kayaking venue created for the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta!
Check out our website below under 'links' for a video tour and more info on the house and surrounding area!

Our family has 3 kids ranging from 6 yrs to 15 yrs old. We love coming out for weekends and playing games and swimming, boating and fishing with our family! We do have cable and internet, but our choice is to not bring electronics to the lake and enjoy checkers, chess, spades and Monopoly when we are not playing on the water. We have some games and puzzles there for your use, but bring your families' favorites too. Playing games on the deck while watching the fire flies come out and waiting for the home made ice cream to be ready is one of my favorite parts of the lake experience!
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
We looked for a lake property for years and finally picked this one because we could relax here and feel like we were 'away', but still be close enough to anything we needed and lots of entertainment. Also, though you still have a hill down to the lake, by 'Lake Lanier standards' it is one of the easiest walks to the water that we found.
We had a great time at your place this past week. Our stay was comfortable, relaxing and we had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend with family. It was cold, so we didn't get to enjoy the lake, but plan to return when it's warmer. Easy access and had plenty to do.
We stayed at the cabin for 1 week in June and then returned for another week in July. It is the perfect place to entertain my fishermen! The cabin was clean and well equipped. The neighbors are nice and friendly. It is quiet and peaceful. with many things to do in just a short drive. We will be back again this year!
My family of 4 (kids ages 6 & 9) spent a week here, and it was great! Pictures are exactly what it looks like (except I will say that the picture of the dock makes it look more "weedy" than it really is). There is a hammock and 2 hammock swinging chairs on the dock! Plenty of life-vests and floats for us. The house was clean and had all the towels (bath and beach), linens, blankets, etc that we needed. Kitchen is fully equipped. Could not have asked for the owner to be any friendlier or helpful. I texted her with a lot of questions and she responded VERY quickly! This is not a "fancy" house but it was clean, comfortable, and in a quiet cove...EXACTLY what we wanted! The great rate allowed us to have extra money to do more fun things with the kids....like rent a pontoon boat from Fish Tales Water Sports! The Georgia Aquarium was only about an hour away! I could not say enough nice things about this place and the owner! Thanks again for a great time!
We stayed here for one week from Saturday to Saturday, I had surgery on Tuesday and needed to recuperate before driving home to Florida. It was perfect for us. Good size kitchen and living room. Although the living room looks small in the picture it is big enough and very comfortably furnished. King sized beds very comfortable, plenty of linen and towels, we didn't have kids to use the bunk beds but it looked very comfortable too. Place was spotlessly clean and owner responded to my text within a few minutes, she was great. The tv in the living room has been updated since the pictures to a HUGE tv. The covered dock was amazing. Even in the rain we sat down there and cast a few lines, we did catch a striped bass but the fishing wasn't great right there. 3 person canoe is available for use and we did take it out on the lake once, wonderful memory. So peaceful but a pretty steep hill coming back up was a challenge until we got more used to it. Local dogs adopted us and looked out for us, it was very sweet. Park across the road behind the church was awesome. 1 mile walking/running trail through the park. Amazing pear trees were in bloom and the park was stunning with them. New Krogers grocery store nearby. Would recommend this property, great price for a clean well kept cabin away from the city where you can see the stars at night and let the quiet soothe you.
The Ramey House was a great place to stay. We loved sitting on the dock in the hammock chairs. The amenities of the house are great and the owners are fantastic to work with. It is a very steep and long walk down to the lake from the house, but we managed. There were several loose dogs out and about and that made us nervous, but then we got to know the dogs who were so sweet. I would highly recommend staying here.
Perfect get-a-way....... nice, quiet, relaxing place........ or one full of lakeside fun..... take your choice. Perfect size, great amenities, cottage perfection... The windows raise for the cool, woodsy breeze, GREAT kitchen for a gourmet meal, two grills for outdoor cooking, fire pit that makes the most perfect Smores.... More lake "toys" than any place I've ever stayed.
Hamlin Garland wrote this in 1899...... but it describes what one can receive from this place..........
"I remember a hundred lovely lakes, and recall the fragrant breath of pine and fir and cedar and poplar trees. The trail has strung upon it, as upon a thread of silk, opalescent dawns and saffron sunsets. It has given me blessed release from care and worry and the troubled thinking of our modern day. It has been a return to the primitive and the peaceful. Whenever the pressure of our complex city life thins my blood and benumbs my brain, I seek relief in the trail; and when I hear the coyote wailing to the yellow dawn, my cares fall from me - I am happy."
