Vacation in the Mountains of Big Canoe, Georgia. Lake house with mountain and golf course views. Spend your vacation this year in our new, 4 BR + loft bedroom, 4 ½ BA, Luxury Home. The house was completed May 2003 and also includes two family rooms, a sleeping loft, patio with a large 8 person hot tub overlooking the lake, screened porch, and large deck where you can enjoy a view of the lake, pool, golf course, and mountains. Everything you need to enjoy your time at Big Canoe is available to you in our home located on Lake Disharoon. You can wake up to the sound of the Canadian Geese flying overhead and go to sleep listening to the songs of the frogs. Our home has central heat and air as well as ceiling fans in all rooms, but sometimes you don't even need them! Set in the foothills of the scenic North Georgia Mountains with elevations exceeding 3000 feet lays the enchanted land known as Big Canoe. Be prepared to brake for deer or wild turkey at any given turn in the road.

Notes: The house has 4 bedrooms, loft and 4 1/2 bathrooms. You could say 5 bedrooms if you count the loft. The master bedroom is on the main level and has a queen size bed with its own bathroom and a large Jacuzzi tub. The Family room on the main level has a TV and DVD player. The screen porch is off the Family room with a deck off the screen porch. The terrace level has 2 bedrooms, and second family room that has a love seat, sofa, TV, VCR and games. There is also a laundry room on the terrace level that guests are welcome to uses. There are 2 bedrooms on the terrace level bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The swim club offers a brand new free form pool, which provides an infant section with gradual entry - great for parents with infants. Plenty of lounge chairs, large umbrellas, and sunshine. Qualified lifeguards are in attendance during the swim season. Lake swimming is available on a sandy beach. The club also has picnic tables, and snack bar. Don't miss the rock water slides, where cool mountain stream water rushes over a smooth rock surface for 153 feet of fun. For a slower pace, canoes and paddle boats are available, included in the admission price.

Great for a weekend getaway!

Our group of 9 came to Big Canoe for a wedding, and we are so glad that we booked this house for our weekend getaway. It's a beautiful, well-equipped home suitable for a single couple or a group. It rained all weekend, so we were stuck in the house, but it was a great place to have to be if you had to be inside. We are thinking about coming back during the summer when we can take advantage of the recreational activities around the development. Thanks for letting us stay at your home!!

What you see in these photos is exactly what you get. This home is beautiful, spacious, and immaculately kept. My family of eleven stayed here for our yearly retreat and were thoroughly pleased with our stay. It is located both far enough from the busy city to experience the quiet beauty of nature--we saw deer in the backyard each morning--and close enough to the busy city to enjoy all of the attractions Atlanta/surrounding cities have to offer. The homeowner was also very helpful in providing information about what to see and do while we visited. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone.

Best Vacation Ever

We spent a week in Almost Heaven, and we all had a blast. We were celebrating my dad's 60th birthday -- there were 6 adults and 4 kids. The layout of the house is wonderful -- three floors allow you to find peace and quiet at any time of the day. The location is perfect, close to the golf course, park, tennis, and water. We made road trips to Amicalola Falls, Lake Lanier, and Six Flags White Water (and the Marietta Diner). Tom made everything easy, and I'd recommend this house to anyone.

I highly recommend this beautiful house.
We had a great family time....! It is good for any age...
The house is so clean, everything looks new...it is much better than the pictures on the website. It is so convenient to be so close to the beach, the amenities and the trails...We are definitively going back! The Oconnors are so nice, they treat you as family!!
