Guestbook comments from the owner
We very much enjoyed staying at the Beaucaire apartment. Dennis and Griet were gracious hosts. You may have heard that we had a small problem with the shower, but Dennis fixed it as quickly as possible.

The apartment is clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated and in a wonderful location for day trips throughout Southern France.

COMFORTABLE, GOOD LOCATION, AND PERFECT FOR A GETA

  • 4 of 5
I've traveled to Europe and France many times but this time brought my family including my parents. We wanted to rent a place in a central location where we could walk around the city and get food at night, but also where we could check out the surrounding area by car. The apartment was fantastic and the check-in process was so easy. There are great meals to be had in this town, and many of Provence's top sites are within an hour driving distance. The only downside was that the town was littered more than the usual French town. But that is the town and not the rental. Nonetheless, I would definitely come back to Beaucaire for this apartment and its location.

We enjoyed going to the market and the several bakeries that are nearby. In addition, we went to the restaurant on the water where we had fantastic mussels and salads for dinner.

GREAT FLAT SITUATED IN AN INTERESTING AREA

  • 5 of 5
The three bedroom apartment had everything we needed: French and British TV service, fast Internet (wifi and ethernet), well-equipped kitchen. And the terrace is great - lots of shade in the late afternoon when it's otherwise hot. The only thing we noticed, probably because have two babies that crawl, was that the floors weren't very clean. (Maybe because they let us check-in by noon, the local caretakers didn't have time?) Otherwise, the flat was clean and the management was very good to deal with. Other positives: it's a very good location: Near Les Baux-en-Provence. And not far from arles, Nîmes and avignon. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommended it.

Owner's Response: We always like to hear compliments. And we quite agree that it is a perfect place to stay!

We will refer your comments about the floor to our caretakers. They will certainly address it!

This apartment turned out to be more spacious, comfortable, charming and better equipped than I expected. It was ideal for our family of four adults – and can accommodate more. It is within walking distance of all basic food needs, including delightful food markets (3 times a week) as well beautiful walks along the Rhone and interesting historic sites. Just as important, it is within easy driving distance of all the places we wanted to visit – Nimes, the Pont de Garde, Avignon, Arles, and many more. The owners and their agents are friendly and helpful, and lots of information was provided in the house about places to go and see, restaurants to try – and that’s just what we did. We were very pleased to have computer and internet access and to have a user-friendly kitchen stocked with basic cooking supplies. For guests spending Christmas there, the midnight mass with live animals in the nativity pageant and choir in traditional dress, followed by a festive serving of mulled wine, delicious pastries and dried fruits in the medieval alley leading to the church, is not to be missed. We loved it - even in December without its summer outdoor attractions. Many thanks.

We enjoyed our week in your Beaucaire apartment.John and Lisa were pleasantly efficient and helpful as we settled in and out of Hotel Luxembourg. It is indeed comfortable and well-equipped with kitchen, bathrooms, washer, garage space, computer and plenty of books. J It was also an excellent place to just reside. We enjoyed walking around---- finding the PO, the multiple markets, the fine castle, the special baker, the bottle recycling container, and, of course, the dragon in the square.
Every evening we walked along the dike, listening to conversations in French, in Arabic, in other languages as the stars came out. It seemed that we were truly in the France of the medieval days as well as in 2009. Thank you for making an easy introduction to such a fascinating place.
Best wishes to John and Lisa and to you both.
Sincerely,
Ann and Pug

What a wonderful place to stay! We found the apartment in Beaucaire quite spacious and offering all the amenities of home (English-language television, Internet access, modern kitchen and the two bathrooms a major asset!) PLUS a lovely veranda on which we took our leisurely meals while enjoying a pleasant breeze from the Rhone. The town of Beaucaire itself gave us a sense of being in the midst of authentic small town France, surrounded by local people instead of tourists, yet we could reach such traditional tourist destinations as Arles, St. Remy, Avignon and Les Baux surprisingly easily by car. We were delighted to find that the train station in Tarascon just across the bridge (a 15 minute walk) gave us easy access
to many locations (such as Marseilles and Avignon) by public transportation as well.
A magical experience for us - we do so look forward to visiting again.
