Parton River Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Enjoy the peaceful water from the gently sloping yard or from the rocking chairs on the screened porch. You will relax and unwind from the refreshing sounds of the small water falls down stream. The fun and excitement of Pigeon Forge is only 10 minutes away with no mountain roads and Gatlinburg only a short drive. You may sleep 2-8 comfortably with Queens, King size and 2 singles beds and the kitchen is fully equipment. ALL WILL ENJOY the “beach swimming” downriver with the sand bar at edge of river provides a shallow place for all. Bring your fishing poles for their are2 fishing holes. Smokey Mountain Park stocks the river each Wednesday. Entering the river In front of the Cottage by gentle sloping “beach type” yard is perfect for small kids. Kids will love to skip rocks and climb the huge boulders downstream together. Large lawn next to the river has picnic table & chairs under big shade trees; Great spot for wedding or large family picnic. Down at the river select a flat bolder & write a poem, leave others a message or even paint it and leave it on the porch with the others our guests have created for your enjoyment!

About The Owner

We have visited the Smoky Mountains for over 20 years, looking for a place that we could come to for peace and calm yet with lots of activities for family and friends. We hope that you will find the same 'peace like a river' that we feel when visiting. We warn you, the river is enchanting and you may never want to leave. We've loved reading by the river or watching kids play on the bolders or sleeping to the sound of the river with the fireplace blazing after a dip in the porch hot tub. It is truly a little bit of heaven.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1998
Why The Owner chose Pigeon Forge

We wanted a peaceful place, safe for small children, on the pristine (clean) part of the river yet only 12 minutes from all the action and central to three big modern recreation buildings with fitness centers, bowling, etc. The history of the cottage (in the Parton family) was a plus as was the gentle sloping front yard, dead end road and general ambience and modernization. The shows in town are first class and the local people are very special.

What makes this cottage unique

The cool river, sound of the water, tubing, playing on the bolders, swimming in the swimming hole and fishing are the major benefits. Enjoy peace and calm at the Cottage, or if you wish you can hike in the Smokey Mountains (15 minute drive), or eat at any of hundreds of restaurants, or attend any number of shows and entertainment venues in Gatlinburg (25 minutes drive) or Pigeon Forge (10 minutes) has hot rod and custom car shows year round. The nearby drives and views are breathtaking. Y'all come and sit a spell.

Notes: We are located on Middle Fork of the Little Pigeon River coming right out of the Green Briar entrance of the Smoky Mountains with 125 degree River views from screened porch and living room. Gentle Sloping lawn (like a beach) down to river, picnic table near river with river view. Tubing, Swimming and Fishing are commonly enjoyed by our many guests.
