Gouldsboro Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Enjoy breathtaking views from this seaside cottage on the coast of Maine. Very private setting, yet close enough for day trips throughout the area. Meticulously clean and well-appointed, this cottage provides guests with a relaxing place to call home when not out touring.

Babbling Brook Cottage sits at the edge of Gouldsboro Bay which is painted with lobster buoys marking the traps to be hauled with the daily catch of Maine lobster. Kayaking and sailing are both options along this pristine shore, and the easy access to the water’s edge make for a perfect day of exploring the coastline.

This newly renovated cottage offers a master bedroom with a queen bed and patio door to view the incredible Easternmost sunrise in the United States; a second bedroom with two twin beds; a fully equipped kitchen; a dining area; a large living room with a queen size sleeper sofa for the occasional visitor during your stay, along with patio doors overlooking the ocean; full bathroom; washer and dryer; deck offering breathtaking views; satellite TV; local phone service.

Gouldsboro is located in the middle of the Downeast and Acadia regions of Maine. Acadia National Park and the Bar Harbor region are only a mere hour drive and Quoddy State Park is about two hours away – perfect day treks only to return to the peace and quiet of this seaside haven. Get lost in time on our expansive deck where peace and quiet are endless. It provides a most tranquil spot for reading, relaxing, or bird watching.

More urban shopping needs can be met in nearby Ellsworth. With only a half hour drive you will find a couple of “big box” stores, dining experiences for every palate, and a wonderful Main Street experience. Only ten minutes east you will find the small coastal community of Milbridge, which is home to a quaint supermarket, banks, a gas station, two restaurants, a pharmacy, and an old time movie theatre featuring new releases.

To personalize your Maine experience, we can even have home bakes goods including fresh Maine blueberry pie, locally grown produce, and farm fresh eggs awaiting your arrival at an additional charge.

We are now taking reservations for our 2012 season. Our reasonable rate allows you to experience the ultimate vacation at a low price. Make this year the best vacation year ever! Contact us now to reserve your Maine vacation at Babbling Brook Cottage.

Guestbook comments from the manager
My husband and I, along with our family really enjoyed the time spent at

the cozy cottage in Maine. We slept well in the very comfortable beds

while there. The price offered was reasonable and affordable for us and

we were pleasantly surprised at all the amenities included (i.e. extra

bottled waters available, food in the pantry, shampoo to use, new bar of

soap, laundry soap w/ washer and dryer usage, linens and towels

provided, pots and pans, including a lobster pot available for use, and

the list goes on.) We could smell the salt of the sea and enjoyed a bit

of exploring the rocks before the tide came in. We enjoyed taking a walk

down the road and even met some of the friendly neighbors. We wanted to

thank you for all the work that went into making our stay as pleasant as it turned out to be.

LOVELY HOUSE WITH A GREAT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
This place is really cute. Its right on the water so makes for a very peaceful, serene stay. The house is very well maintained and comes equipped with enough kitchen, bath and bedding items. Has a very big patio and balcony to spend time outdoor. Its perfect for 4 people. The photo do not do justice to its bright and comly decor.

Note - since the place is in deep woods.. you may want to bring along bug guards and mosquito repellants.

EVERYTHING!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed for a week in this wonderful cottage. It was very well equipped and had EVERYTHING we needed and then some. It sits down near the end of a quiet no outlet road right on the water, where which you hear nothing except for a boat occasionally out on the bay checking lobster traps. That's not true, you do hear birds and the little brook that runs into the bay along side of the house, very quiet and peaceful. It has a beautiful deck with a very nice deck furniture and a gas grill for cooking. It also has a well groomed grass yard leading to the waters edge, where there are two nice wooden chairs and a picnic table to enjoy lunch. Inside the cottage there is everything one needs to feel as though they are at home, from the super comfortable bed, to the relaxing duel recliners in the living area looking out over the water. The kitchen is totally stocked, from a lobster pot, to anything else you would need, they didn't miss a thing. Everything was spotless, and everything was very up to date. It's a perfect place to spend time on the Maine coast. It's away from all the tourism, yet within a short drive you can be in Acadia, Bar Harbor or many of the other coastal towns and Harbors the area has to see. Quoddy Head state park is just over an hour north of the cottage and well worth the trip. The trail along the rocky cliffs was incredible to hike, it's about a 3 mile hike with beautiful views.

It was our first time on the Maine coast and it won't be our last, already planning on coming back to stay in the same spot next year!
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

BEAUTIFUL GOULDSBORO BAY

  • 5 of 5
This place is wonderful; it's cozy, quiet and private yet close enough to all the sights you need to see while there. It's such a beautiful spot on Gouldsboro Bay to watch the lobster boats and get lost in your own thoughts. There's a beautiful deck on the front with table, chairs and umbrella, and Adirondack chairs down on the lawn much closer to the oceanfront.

The beach at low tide was fun to explore - the Great Blue Herons (3 at a time), the ducks and the gulls also explored it every day. Things were immaculate! Everyone I met while there (neighbors) were so friendly. This little cottage supplied everything except the food - amazing! Fresh Wild Sea Roses greeted me on the kitchen table along with a note welcoming me. The roses (that lasted the entire week) created such a homey atmosphere. Anyone who wants that extra personalized touch should check this place out for sure. I already know I will be returning next year.

If you love the ocean, you will fall in love with it all over again!

Owner's Response: The Great Blue Herons are wonderful to watch, along with the other wildlife, and there is no rose more fragrant than the beautiful Rugosa Beach Rose. So glad you enjoyed your stay!

WONDERFUL STAY IN GOULDSBORO

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I traveled with our two young children to Gouldsboro. The house was immaculately kept and nicely appointed. The view of the water from the living room and master bedroom were breathtaking. There was plenty of room for the four of us to relax each evening when we returned from our adventures. The house was very convenient to many outdoor activities in the Schoodic region, including but not limited to the Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park. We traveled into Acadia in Bar Harbor several times as well. The owner was fantastic about providing us with tips about the area, including suggestions of places to visit during our stay. She even gave us tips on where to buy fresh lobsters! Her tips were spot on, as we enjoyed many of the things on her list. My children would say that the best part of our stay at this property was exploring the beach at low tide. They found many little crabs and other sea life hiding under rocks. It was a paradise for a child! There were also wild turkeys roaming around the neighborhood and we were delighted one morning when three mamas and their many chicks wandered into the front yard. I definitely recommend this property!

Owner's Response: I'm so glad mama turkey made her way with the babies. Lots of wildlife can be seem from the cottage including bunnies, eagles, ducks, and seals, not to mention all of the fun sea life along the shore and under the rocks!
