About Maureen

We moved from Ohio to Littleton, Co 17 years ago & bought our 1st place in Grand Lake 16 years ago. We have 3 boys: twins that are 16 years old & an 11 year old who loves to go to the cabin & catch frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, play on the swingset, enjoy the wildflower or just hang out on one of the big rocks to have a picnic.

Maureen purchased this cabin in 2000
Why Maureen chose Grand Lake

We love the quiet town of Grand Lake we enjoy boating on the 3 large lakes & hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. We often have picnics by one of the lakes & our boys love to just hang outside & see the wildlife.

A group of us were looking for a mountain cabin for a weekend and this property looked like what we had in mind. After our stay, there was no question that it was the perfect choice! Awesome location, beautiful view, outstanding amenities, and excellent ambiance. We will definitely be returning here for our next trip into the Rockies.

Wonderful Family Getaway

5 of 5
Submitted: November 29, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
We are from Denver and spent Thansgiving at the cabin with Grandparents and an Aunt from out of town. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need including platters and pitchers! We enjoyed walks on the property, hikes at Adams Falls and in RMNP, and the tree lighting in Grand Lake. The cabin was very comfortable for the group and large enough for some quiet time, too. I would highly recommend it and hope to be back in the summer.

Perfect for Kids

5 of 5
Submitted: October 29, 2012 Stayed: October 2012
We stayed at Seven Acre Wood for five days and had a wonderful time. We came up from Denver with our two young kids (3 and 1) and our friends came in from San Francisco with their 16 month old. We knew that with three very little kids we wouldn't be able to get out much-working around nap times and all-so we wanted a house that would be comfortable to just hang out. The kids had plenty of space to move around. The two older ones loved the playground equipment (we also took them to the playground in Grand Lake and let them run around). There were toys and books for the kids in the loft plus ping pong and the hot tub for the adults. We made all of our meals at the house (the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a rental!). The kids loved seeing the elk right in the yard-there was a herd of ten or so that stopped by daily. We went on two hikes. Adams Falls is really short, but beautiful (we went in the snow)-perfect for kids and close to the cabin. The cabin was really exactly what we wanted-beds were super comfortable, plenty of room on multiple levels to work out naps or just time alone, the furnishings were comfortable and nice, but I wasn't worried that the kids would break/ruin anything, really close to town, but felt secluded, hot tub and fantastic views. We even got our security deposit back within a week. Seven Acre Wood was a really wonderful property and we would definitely go back.

KY COUPLE

Submitted: January 2, 2012 Stayed: December 2011
My husband and I travel, frequently, and have visited several cities/villages/resorts in Colorado. This trip-the 7-acre wood cabin- and the whole Grand Lake, CO experience was top notch. The cabin is exactly how Jeff and Maureen advertise it, even better. While it was just my husband and I staying, this cabin is VERY family friendly and sleeps several more, comfortably. It is definitely secluded and one of the most romantic places we have ever stayed.

Thanks, again, Maureen and Jeff!

P.S. My husband's ONLY complaint was that he could not watch sportscenter every morning-there is no ESPN on Satellite! LOLOLOL!!!

Awesome house for family with kids!

5 of 5
Submitted: December 16, 2011 Stayed: August 2010
We rented this house in August of 2010. Our group consisted of my mother, my husband and me- and our 3 kids who were aged 7, 5 and 18 months at the time. We loved this house! The house has an absolutely amazing view of the lake- which is not fully caputured in these pictures. It is a mile or two up the road from the town of Grand Lake with its fun shopping and restaurants. There are seamingly countless great hikes in the area. My husband and our oldest son played golf at the amazingly beautiful golf course that is up the road a couple of miles. They also took a ranger lead fly fishing course in the park which was a lot of fun. August weather was perfect. The house has a large bedroom upstairs that has its own bathroom which is perfect for the kids. The main level has 2 nice bedrooms and another bath. The lower level has a ping pong and foozeball (sp?) table which my boys loved and played many times daily. There is also a wonderful hottub which we hopped into each evening! The washer/dryer came in quite handy and the house really had everything we could need. We would highly recommend this house to others and can't wait to come back! The owners were also very honest and easy to work with.
