We moved from Ohio to Littleton, Co 17 years ago & bought our 1st place in Grand Lake 16 years ago. We have 3 boys: twins that are 16 years old & an 11 year old who loves to go to the cabin & catch frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, play on the swingset, enjoy the wildflower or just hang out on one of the big rocks to have a picnic.

Maureen purchased this cabin in 2000

We love the quiet town of Grand Lake we enjoy boating on the 3 large lakes & hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. We often have picnics by one of the lakes & our boys love to just hang outside & see the wildlife.

Perfect getaway

If you are looking for a private retreat with amazing views this is the place for you! The cabin is surrounded by woods with a great view of the lake below. It is quiet and peaceful but still close enough to enjoy RMNP and the town of Grand Lake.

The cabin itself is tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was within reach. The owners provided a wealth of information about restaurants, shopping and nearby activities. Even though we have been to the area many times we discovered some new hidden gems.

We would definitely stay here again!

We Will be Back - Perfect Family Getaway

This review is long overdue. Our family, 4 adults and one toddler stayed here last year from 8/24 - 8/29 and the place was perfect for all our needs. The house is very clean, comfy and has everything you could possibly need plus more; including a playground that our grandson loved, an upstairs play area with toys that he also loved, a game room for everyone , a nicely appointed kitchen, comfy beds, board games, videos, good music and amazing views. It was also a bonus to have a very nice washer and dryer available and a hot tub. I can't say enough about the view, it's better than you see in the photo and I never got tired of seeing the beauty and the many rainbows. Another great thing is its location to Grand Lake, it was maybe a 10 minute drive to the town but the house sitting on 7 acres made you feel as though you were away from it all which I particularly enjoy. We did see a few deer on the property and the stars at night are unbelievable. There were plenty of lakes and streams to fish and rent a pontoon which we did. All in all our vacation was planned to be a relaxing vacation and to enjoy each others company in beautiful surroundings, cook, fish, take walks, talk, play games and just hang out and 7 Acres Log cabin made all this possible. The owners were very easy to work with and we will definitely be back and hope to stay longer next time. If our family was to ever own a log cabin this one would be it!

Amazing Winter Getaway

We had an incredible time at this cabin as a pre-wedding retreat with close friends of the bride and groom. The pictures of this place don't do it justice, and Maureen and Jeff were great. They even left a Christmas tree for us to decorate. So many warm touches around the house. There were plenty of places to sleep, and even with everyone there, it didn't feel crowded. Hope to make it back soon!

Rocky Mountain High at the 7 Acre Woods!

What an amazing cabin for our small family reunion! This place is solid as a rock, exceptionally clean, totally picturesque! - has everything a cook, a kid and a couch potato could want: Reading on the deck, watching the afternoon clouds or moon drift across Shadow Mtn. Lake, playing air hockey, hot-tubbing, making s'mores in the outdoor fireplace, seeing Moose on the property, lounging and enjoying 20+ CD's and just the greatest mix of fun movies the cabin's stocked with - these are just a few of the things we did AT the cabin.

Excursions: It was also a great touristy launching pad - to head north into RMNP or south to fly fish. We enjoyed a 2-hour trail ride out of Sombrero Stables in Grand Lake. We hiked to Lone Pine Lake - an 11 mile alpine extravaganza our 8-year old did, complete with a skinny dip. In town, the Kauffman Museum was amazing as a back in time period-piece.

If we ever head to the Rockies again, this cabin is definitely where we'd return. Sturdy, casual elegance built for maximum relaxation and memory building. :)
